There is an eclipse tomorrow, 28 August, 2026 at 5 Pisces. I am jittery â I usually am around eclipses. But this year they are much on my mind because the solar eclipse on 12 August 2026 was almost on my sun and this one will be opposing my Mercury. So this is a good time to finally write about two remarkable ones in my life.
It was 21 August 2017 and my dad called me at 5:30 am. I thought it was a misdial and cut the call, but he called again and he said, “I am not feeling well and I am going to the hospital to be admitted.” There was a pause and I said, “Iâm coming.” The next day I flew from Bangalore to Goa with one small bag and my laptop. I didnât know it then but I had left Bangalore for good.
My fatherâs Parkinsonâs was at its last stage and pneumonia triggered his hospital admission. After that it was seven months of hospital stays, ICUs, home care and finally a week after the 27 Aquarius eclipse we lost him. I was left with a mother who was psychologically broken by his loss and my big question was: Should I ask my mom to move to Bangalore or should I officially move to Goa. The Goa air is better and I consider it my hometown, and its warm, humid climate suits my mother, so Goa it was.
My fatherâs call in 2017 was on the day of the total solar eclipse on 28 Leo. My sun is on 21 Leo and my Mars and south node are 27 and 29 Taurus. And my moon and north node are both 27 Scorpio. Talk about life-changing.
But eclipses donât happen in a vacuum. Transiting Saturn was retrograde on my MC at that time and my progressed Moon was 28 Taurus and about to change signs and my progressed IC had just moved into Leo. And transiting Uranus was quincunxing my moon, describing the unsettled nature of that time.
I had moved to freelance work in 2015, three years after my husbandâs death, and so I was able to be present for my mom and dad during his last illness. I wasnât working in an office but transiting Saturn was on my MC and progressed Saturn was on my IC. I inherited my fatherâs role at that time. I found myself sitting at his desk, in his room, doing paperwork.
My mom started bringing me bills and issues just as if I were my dad. But I had spent most of my life being a fatherâs daughter â working, being in charge, taking on challenges â and though that brought me success it also found me at age 42 widowed and without children. Like Taylor Swift, I went on a lot of dates but I couldnât make them stay. So at that time I was working on integrating femininity into a decidedly masculine orientation towards life. I had secretly despised weakness in women and scorned the psychology of a homemaker. It was my own shadow, of course. I never thought I had the option of being vulnerable and just existing.
A chance meeting with a fabulous Australian lady at Lake Como in 2015 for one of Steven Forrestâs workshops had introduced me to the work of Rori Raye. And that changed my life. I learnt how to just be, how to receive, how to let someone else take charge. In a beautiful coincidence I met her again in Athens in 2025 and told her I was married and happy and she had changed my life.
I met someone in 2018, a sunny-haired, sunny-tempered Swede. A double Sag with a stellium in Aquarius. My progressed Moon was in Gemini at that time and what followed was a very double Sag relationship that involved a lot of flights and a lot of locations. Be warned, if youâre going to be dating a double Sag, keep your bags packed â you will travel.
I was staying with my mother and dating HÃĨkan who travelled all over the world. It was perfect till Covid hit and the borders closed. HÃĨkan and I spent a year apart linked via video calls. It was at that time I applied for a Swedish residency and I got it in April 2021.
It was hard to leave my mother; it felt like abandoning her. I delayed moving to Sweden as much as I could because of the guilt but it was getting hard to say no to HÃĨkan. Air travel had just started and there was news of green Covid and there were no flights from Goa to Stockholm. And there was an eclipse on June 10, 2021. On 19 Gemini, my IC is 20 Gemini. So I decided I would travel on the day of the eclipse because if nothing else, I would get data on how it went.
It went well. I flew to Mumbai then Air France took me to Amsterdam for a five-hour layover, which really drove me crazy because I smoked at that time and Schiphol Airport is smoke-free. From Amsterdam, I flew to Stockholm, and on the day of the eclipse on my IC, I had moved home again.
On our wedding day with Mom and HÃĨkan, my sun and moon:

Weâll do an imagination exercise. Imagine a person who is a public figure. A freedom-loving warrior with a streak of rebellion. Someone who is likely drunk on their military prowess and acts rebelliously. He has a large network of allies and he might be engaged in some kind of crusade in foreign lands.Â
Somebody asked me recently, “What is my lifeâs purpose? ” I think thatâs a question weâve all asked ourselves at many points in our life. I suspect we think that if we land the right kind of job, weâll feel fulfilled. And for some people that might well be true. But for many of us, our lifeâs purpose has nothing to do with identifying the right day job. I find that looking at nodes is incisive when comes to figuring out what was one born to do. Itâs really that simple.
Iâll be covering many people to illustrate this and I want to begin with the Duchess of Sussex Meghan. Sheâs a good example because she told us what she wants from life â she wants her voice heard. Not surprising for someone who has the north node in Leo in the first house conjunct Mercury and the Sun. To break it down in simple English:
Rumours are flying about Former President Obamaâs marriage and a potential affair he might be having. Heâs been married to Michelle now for more than 33 years. They have presented a united front during these three decades that marked his eight years in the senate, publication of several books, the birth of two daughters and two terms as the president of USA. This long marriage is a testament of their strong characters as they navigated the challenges of becoming parents, launching into politics and eventually becoming global figures of with enduring fame. Itâs not for the faint of heart. But they did it and it has made them in our eyes, the public eyes, an archetypical couple.
If former president Barack Obamaâs time of birth is correct to the minute, then transiting Juno will go over his midheaven on 12 February 2025 and stay close to it till 19 March 2025. Then it stations to go retrograde and comes back to hit it exactly on 21 April 2025. It hits it for the third time on 26 September 2025.
Transiting Pluto and natal Jupiter are both conjunct Obamaâs MC right now. He may find himself in the new for reasons other than the fate of his marriage. The progressed MC on Jupiter on its own is a fortunate indicator: bringing luck and fame and support. Transiting Pluto there makes it more complex to figure out. Pluto represents power and powerful people. It can represent secrets too but at the MC, the secrets are made public. And the news reports say that the divorce rumours have led donors backing out of the The Obama Presidential Center. We donât have long to wait to see how this plays out, because whatever it signifies will be evident throughout 2025.
Transiting Neptune conjunct Juno: The planet that dissolves things will go over the asteroid that represents marriage. You can imagine a Neptune transit like a tsunami that wipes away everything. Neptune takes 165 years to go around a chart. Many of us will not experience a transit like this is our lifetime. Itâs both rare and powerful.

Iâve owned Michael Lutinâs book Sunshine: The Astrology of Being Happy for about a decade. I was thrilled when I first read it and devoured it. I read it again last night and it blew me away. Iâve followed Mikeâs work for years and Iâve always thought he is divinely inspired. He has a rare prophetic gift that he delivers in his very characteristic New York style that is very engaging to read. Fun. Mike is fun.
