Not affiliated. The new Pictage is built by Persoon.ai Inc. and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a successor to the original Pictage, Inc., which closed on September 27, 2015. We do not have the original company’s photo archives, customer accounts, or records.
Timeline, 2000 to 2015
2000
Pictage is founded in Torrance, California, as an online proofing, hosting, and print-fulfillment service for professional wedding and event photographers.
2000s
Pictage grows into one of the best-known gallery platforms for wedding photographers. Photographers form local Pictage User Groups (PUGs) to meet, teach, and share business advice, and the company runs a yearly conference for its users.
Early 2015
The company spins off its album and print lab as a separate business, Photo Albums Direct, which continues to operate independently.
2015
A long service outage leaves many photographers unable to reach client galleries. Many begin moving to other gallery platforms.
September 27, 2015
Pictage, Inc. closes its doors and the service goes offline. Photographers are told to rely on their own archives.
Later
The pictage.com domain changes hands. Today it is owned by Persoon.ai Inc., which builds a new, unrelated photographer platform under the Pictage name.
Looking for old photos?
The archives did not come with the domain. The photographer who shot your event is the best source. Here is how to find your photos from an old Pictage gallery.
Where Pictage photographers went
Most moved to other client gallery platforms in 2015. We compare the common choices on our Pictage alternatives page. Many photographers also kept the local Pictage User Groups going under new names; see photographer user groups.
Who we are
Persoon.ai Inc. owns the pictage.com domain today and builds a new photographer platform called Pictage. We share a name with the original company, not a corporate history. Read more on our about page.
