>>98903779identity marketing, sadly its most of what is out there nowadays. Its no longer "hey check out our cool thing, maybe you could have fun with it" its "be cool, be a riftbound guy, use a riftbound avatar, associate your identity with riftbound NOT other brands". I remember hearing the Steve Jobs quote about branding being about identity, who people see themselves as and who they want to be.. and thinking it was true but disturbing. Its not enough to be a guy who enjoyed comics, you have to be a Marvel fan or a DC fan. You need to "make sure they do the character justice, represent the brand properly" you have to be personally offended when a bad product tarnishes the IP. The product IS YOU. WotC is corpo and old and lame and greedy, riftbound is hot asian gfs who tell you how funny you are when you superchat.
>>98905192"Turn your brand into a religion, turn your customer into a cultist"IIRC definitely not quite that phrase, but it cynically hits the truth of the matter.

>>98905300>Turn your brand into a religion.>Turn your customers into fanatics.>Turn your products into obsessions.>Turn your employees into ambassadors. All four didn't appear together until 2019 in an article by Rusty Guinn, but Steve Jobs coined some of this in the 80's, Douglas Atkins coined the rest in 2004.

>>98905089These swords are so wide. Do you think they could be split along their length into two swords? Swords so wide you could play cricket with
>>98905084It would be nice to be able to play either game with the same minis. You could play 7E-8E with the same 30k marines saying they were relic heresy-era suits. But 11E literally squatted Tacticals and all Firstborn. I wonder if 30k marines could be made to pass for Primaris. But they look gigantic.Custodes can apparently play either game with the same units... but it's Custodes. They seem one-dimensional. No doubts, no weaknesses, no struggle.
How do you do it? How much effort do you put in to hide or justify or explain it?Did you get away with it? Did you players connect the dots?Pic related is Ed Greenwood who is the mastermind of writing with his dick. He got away with it. Even praised for it. It is amazing that he gets away with it.

>>98875218>>98884786>>98884859In my GURPS game we got a quest to hunt a vampire that was terrorizing a city. It only fed from noblewomen, so we had the idea to put the bard in a dress to look like a noblewoman and use as bait. Alas, clothing in GURPS is actually extremely expensive so we were only able to buy a Status 2 dress to put the bard in rather than a full-on princess gown.(The crown was the main piece of treasure from a previous dungeon we had cleared, it was like 60% of the worth of the treasure in the dungeon but instead of selling it the bard kept it to wear.)
>>98800286I'm glad I'm not the only one who does this. It adds so much flavor and intrigue to games. It can really help jump start inspiration for things. Instead of wondering what you could do for next session, you can consider what you find appealing, and just contextualize it in the setting. I find the less effort you put into it the easier it is to slip them in, it's not really about hiding, beyond it hiding in plain sight. Players can never connect the dots as long as you're not outright a pervert.

>>98901878This debate was old 20 years ago.Lore has to serve the game.
Anything beyond Law/Chaos/Neutrality is insipid star sign bullshit that courts horrendous play styles.Lawful Good, Chaotic Evil and Neutral Good players are consistently some of the worst elements at the table because they're trying to make the game about their teenaged conceptions of the world and side quests that have nothing to do with the goals of the party.
>>98901878considering that the general concept of "Paladin" is so tied up in the chivalric orders and various other church knights, it naturally follows that at a bare minimum Paladins as a class should>be part of a church (regardless of said church's character)>be beholden to said church's principles (regardless of what said church principles may be)
>>98903183>Words have meaningsAnd if you kill/replace enough people, those meanings will change!
>>98903194You joke, but this is actually a thing in the Pillars of Eternity vidya series. In that, the Paladin/Cleric divide is explicitly religion vs philosophy. Clerics are empowered by their patron deity while Paladins are warriors who've dedicated themselves to the study of a particular ethos so hard that it sharpens the energy from their soul to the point they can do combat magic. One of the factions is an order of mercenary Paladins whose power comes from devotion to commerce and professionalism.

>>98904187>HEROThe business model for most nostalgia archetypes is selling shiny cardboard for them every now and then to reignite interest, and thus make the cattle buy long out-of-print cards. Basically you'll be paying up the ass for old AND new cards. There's also the issue of the deck having 3 stigmas, the first one being that nearly all its users are gay, and it's not just a joke because jaden is a confirmed homo with a tranny literally living rent free in his head. Years ago there was a featured match between iirc sinful spoils and hero, the hero pilot was a fat brown gay male nurse.Even if you're a lily white nerdy dude, the second anyone hears you play hero, be it online or at locals, they'll assume you're mexican, brazilian or some other kind of south american. The deck is incredibly popular amongst them, much like how blue-eyes is basically THE black man's deck.Lastly if you build hero optimally your goal will always be shitting out 1-2 omni negates and several floodgates, the deck has no "sane" endboard pieces. And people HATE playing against that shit.>Blue-EyesNearly the exact same issues as hero, master magia used to be a 1k QCSR for around a year, now it's a $100 prismatic, platinum or collector's. At least you won't be presumed to be gay, just dumb and black.>Dark MagicianAlso a nigger deck, but unlike blue-eyes this one has never been meta, so it's a complete waste of money. Just fyi, ROLAD isn't dark magician.>Shining SarcophagusActually pretty decent for what it is, but losing dragoon really hurt it, now you can't shit it out before the fifth summon to insulate the rest of your plays. I'd say go for it if you're gonna treat it as the petdeck it is, but a few of its cards are expensive, like DMG and curtain. You picked 4 decks that are unlikely to get hit (DM just did lmoa), but have their own share of issues unrelated to that.

>>98905059Changing spellcasters to half-caster progression but recovering spells on a short rest is such a fundamental change to the game that it makes gauging the overall results night impossible.I'm not entirely opposed to the idea, since it seems like it would functionally drag out the typical level 3-7 range that a lot of campaigns revolve around. >>98904166I don't know where this 20% figure comes from, it just doesn't add up. Its fine if you picked that printed, but these figures seem like a fabrication.I changed my PFA at 75K after a few failures using light supports. Though the warning comes on at 60K. People tend to push it further. As soon as you bring ACF into the matter that's another 2-3x longer life than PFA.The standard vat is 124 AUD from what I can see. PFA is about 46 AUD for 5 sheets, or about 60 AUD for the chitu version. That vat is rated for 75K min peels, mine is rated for 60K but I happened to have changed it at 75K, let's assume 60K vs 75K.That's 124 AUD for 75K vs 15 AUD for 75K (12 AUD for 60K). That's 8x higher running costs in film/vat.In order for that to be 20% higher only, it'd need to reach a minimum of 500K lifts, while I'd have to have an absolute limit of 60K and not be able to push it further. This isn't realistic
>>98903773Mix your dirty IPA with water. Give it a couple cure cycles stirring in between. Then distill.Pure IPA with all the crud left behind in the water. Easy enough to scrape the shit out while warm and then you can simply let it dry and throw it out.
>>98904331It's realistic in my experience. I have never, ever had films last anywhere close to that long for a start. Secondly, your perspective is distorted by being a Crim, you get shit from China waaaay cheaper than it is once it's travelled halfway around the world and been subject to tarrifs, duties, processing fees, and 20% VAT. Finally, while the Formlabs vat is rated for a *minimum* of 75K peels, the fact you're never going to be changing resins out with the associated wear, almost never needing to run cleaning sheet cycles with the associated wear, have no risk of ever getting the tension slightly wrong when swapping and thus accelerating wear etc etc etc means it will almost certainly run for a lot longer than that with no issues. I'm not interested in hypothetical maximums using hypothetical prices, over here most 3D printing stuff is pricey unless you buy absolute unmitigated trash off aliexpress and the ongoing costs of the Studio 1 compares favourably given all the ease of use benefits.
>>98903727>>98903764>>98903773Thanks guys! One can never be too careful when it comes to 4chan advice as some of it could be trolling. Just with internet advice in general really. I skimmed the FAQ pastebin and managed to not find a 3D printing site dedicated to FAQ stuff. My setup is almost complete, but winter is closing in fast. Generally it is safe to order resin off amazon during the winter as it won't "spoil from the cold" right? I am looking at SunLu ABS and Anycubic ABS like resins. I'm not sure which one is better for resilient miniatures that can survive falling off a table. I'm looking at SUNLU ABS Like Resin (dark grey) at the moment. I think if the resin has more flex it means it will be more resilient so things like sword tips don't break. Is this true for resins?
>>98903718>all one needs I'd say it's a little bit incomplete and you're going to see some variation based on each person's situation. I didn't follow the replies too closely, but here are some thoughts on the pic: Resin cures best in the neighborhood of 20-30C range, loosely around 65-80F. Not everyone's going to have that issue though. Not sure if all newer printers include a chamber heater, so I'm mentioning this one. I run a tent with a heater and fume extraction but if I hadn't gotten one from an auction house, I would have probably gone looking for a really giant cardboard box. I don't have/need AC where I am but I have to wonder about the location of the extractor fan in that pic because I feel like the duct fan is going to lose pull power having to draw from the AC space. I run mine straight out the window using a dryer hose duct that passes through a simple blocker. Nitrile gloves and eye protection are probably a good idea. Some printer boxes will come with them but the gloves are going to be a consumable. It's important to get nitrile and not latex. Some folks will argue those aren't essential but if you're going to worry about acrylate VOCs with a respirator, it seems a little odd not to throw in other protective gear. Optional: I would add a couple of silicone rubber baking or pet food trays/mats to the list. They're more quality of life than essential though, but would making clean up way easier.
