deleted fanfiction blog

Hello, hello! Long time no see! Or should I rather say, long time no post?

I have not forgotten about this blog. Nothing has happened in my life that has been deemed worthy of publishing.

In fact, I think the visitors to this blog has dropped so drastically, it is not even worth having my own cherylwoo.com domain. So, when the lease for the domain expires in October, I won’t be renewing it any longer.

Anyway, I decided to delete the WordPress blog I use to publish my fanfiction. Why? Well, when I publish a story I usually forget to post it on the blog. I only remember like, a week later. And besides, the blog had limited access, meaning if I don’t give you a password, you can’t read anything in it. And I generally don’t publicise my stories to my real-life friends. I tend to separate my internet and real-life presence. Internet is internet. Real-life is real-life. So basically, no one reads my fanfiction blog. It was just a means for me to keep track of my stories.

A few days ago, I was thinking it was kinda pointless. Because I have saved all my stories in a folder in my laptop anyway. And I have back-up of those files in my flash drive. I don’t really need a website to keep track of them.

So… my fanfiction blog has been deleted. Sayonara!

cat in kfc

This evening, I went to KFC for dinner. Somehow, it’s become my weekly Tuesday routine to have KFC for dinner…

Anyway, that isn’t the point of my story. There was a college guy lining up in front of me when I got there. At first, I didn’t pay much attention to him. Then, out of the corner of my eye, to my shock, I saw something long (like a snake, I swear!) move near his shoulder. I was like, “OMG!” When I looked properly, it wasn’t a snake, but a cat’s tail. He had his cat on his shoulder! In bloody KFC!

Actually, it was quite cute la. He loves his cat so much until he brought it to KFC to buy dinner.

And when it was his turn, the lady at the counter taking his order didn’t even bat an eyelash at the cat!

new usb drive :D

My Toshiba Palachan USB drive’s cover is unable to cover the USB head anymore 😦 I was so sad, because I really liked that USB drive. It’s shaped like a whale and it’s called “Palachan” – how can it not get any cuter?

Anyway, I found a replacement one when I went shopping on Saturday. It’s in the shape of a yellow duck, and it reminded me of the giant rubber duck. And it’s 8G, so lots more space to keep my files.

And this morning, I Iggychu-fied it! LOL.

If you’re wondering what it looks like…

i tot i taw a puddytat

This is so cute, no?

I always have it in my mind that cats eat birds. Courtesy of Looney Tunes’ Sylvester & Tweety. Also, when I was a kid, I used to keep birds, and my old house used to have a back lawn. One night, I accidentally left the bird cage on the ground and went to sleep. I honestly swear – I forgot! The next day, the bird was gone. Presumably a cat had entered the back lawn through the gate and gotten to my poor bird 😦

happy valentine’s day

Happy Valentine’s Day to all you lovebirds out there!

In case you didn’t know, today is Chap Goh Mei as well. Chap Goh Mei is actually the 15th day of Chinese New Year. It is known for being the last day to celebrate Chinese New Year. It is the last day to eat yee sang and all other Chinese New Year dishes in Chinese restaurants.

In fact, Chap Goh Mei is also called the “Chinese Valentine’s Day”. In Malaysia, a lot of single young ladies will go to a river (Klang River? LOL, I don’t know) and throw mandarin oranges into it. It is believed that the man who retrieves the orange will be their match made in heaven. But realistically, which crazy man will jump into a river to pick up oranges?? I used to think that all Chinese people do it, but apparently, it is unique to Malaysia/Singapore? Can anyone confirm this for me?

So yes, today, February 14 2014, is the Western and the Chinese Valentine’s Day. How coincidental is that? 😉
