OSGrid Closing Down End Of 2026

The OSGrid owners have officially announced that the grid will permanently shut down at midnight on 31st December 2026. New registrations for the OSGrid are closed.

The OSGrid launched back in 2007 and it’s been very popular since then. It will be sad to see the OSGrid shut down after 19 years. The OSGrid owners say residents should export their regions and inventories now.

The reason for the closure of the OSGRID is due to a malicious actor who used inventory archive uploads to flood the grid with junk data.

The board blamed a malicious actor who used inventory archive uploads to flood the grid with junk data. The grid’s asset server grew from 5 terabytes to 17 terabytes in less than a year, and the database table that tracks residents’ inventory items went from 3 gigabytes to 139 gigabytes

There will be a Emergency Community Meeting (critical town hall) at 11am PST on Sunday 18th October 2026 at the Hurliman Plaza Auditorium to discuss roadmap transitions and futher details.

I will post more information every soon on the closure of the OSGrid.

Trans-Sansara Causeway In Second Life Now Open

In early August 2026 I blogged about a new construction project that was being built and the good news is that the new Trans-Sansara Causeway in Second Life is now open to everyone. This new road link now connects Bay City and Sansara at long last. The map will update in the days ahead to view the new Trans-Sansara Causeway layout in full.

Teleport to the Coastal Waterway Bridge and explore the new area. There is a new long tunnel, new rez areas on land/underwater, new hidden areas, new seating areas, new toll area, amazing views and much more.

The tunnel is located at Luna Oaks Galleria Mall, Luna and there are rez zones along the route. The tunnel comes out at Coastal Waterway, Thetis where the route heads towards many new bridges and then to the toll area.

Spread the word and come see the new area. The Moles have done a great job and hopefully we will see more new Linden mainland projects very soon on the grid.
