Hmm

In recent news, I am starting this back up. Blah blah blah real life…blah blah blah school…I need to just type!

I found this quote, or should I say definition, which is fairly applicable to life right now:

Forgive (v) : what you do when
someone you love does something
cruel or hurtful to you & you take
them back because you cannot
live without them.

It is completely unfathomable to me that someone you LOVE would even remotely do something to hurt you. But it happens quite often and you’re more than often left in pieces and you have to try and salvage whatever is left, which is pretty much nothing. So what are you to do then? You know, I strive so hard to be a forgiving person, but you can only take so much. I know I have tough skin but those layers peel away under stress and then you’re left kinda like an empty shell. I feel like I’m a peanut shell with one nut missing. I know I have another nut in there but it just isn’t the same. Someday, I’d really like to be honest with her and tell her upfront but for now…I’ll sit back and let everything go by as if nothing was wrong. Because I’m really good at that. I’m not usually fake but in this case…I fake it all the time. Its okay though. I’m used to it.

They say there’s a fish in the ocean for everyone…but I can’t help but feel like I’m that tiny little fish, who never really finds their match…and I am completely and irrevocably heartbroken over that…

Splat!

It’s been a while…Yeah it’s definately been a while…

I have been pretty busy with school. It takes up my life now, so I pretty much knew I wouldn’t be able to blog AS MUCH. But here I am, making time to blog.

Classes are classes. For any who read this, I dropped CalcII 2 weeks ago. Haha…Yeah, couldn’t take it. It pretty much sucked so much butt that I dropped the second day of classes. That’s life though right?

I will come back with a more exciting blog post soon! I promise!

My life is going to suck…but not totally

As many of you know, who read this or who know me, I leave for school on Saturday morning, which is a mere 2 days away.

Have I packed? No.

Do I want to go? No.

Do I miss my friends? Yes.

These are just a few things running through my head. I am also DREADING, emphasis on the dread part, the 9+ hour trip to there. Seriously though. I am NOT looking forward to that long drive. I am leading a caravan though with a friend and her mom, so I suppose it won’t be TOO bad.

I think I am also dreading this year because of my classes. I have an 8AM, Monday thru Friday class. Did I mention I’m not really a morning person? Yeah…I’m not. And it’s a math class, more specifically, CalculusII. Oh boy…Someone just smack me silly because I can hardly contain my excitement. Then at 9AM I have Chapel, which is mandatory. Don’t ask. Then at 10AM, I have Microbiology, which I have purposefully NOT taken because I have heard how frickin hard it is. Believe me, not looking forward to it. However, it is MWF lecture with a lab on Thursday, so I suppose it isn’t too bad. Then I have a lunch break at 11 and class at noon and at 1PM. So the class at noon is Photography, which I am like, SOOO freakin excited to take. I definately think this will take the edge off my somewhat hectic schedule. And at 1PM, I’m taking Church Planting (the mandatory Bible class that we have to take). I’m taking it with a friend and to kinda lighten the mood on the first day, we’re bringing in gardening tools. We wanna make a good first impression. Plus, we are hilarious so it’s just something we’d do.

Well that’s the upcoming semester in a nutshell. Fun right? Glad you think so…

Runes look good on you

So, I have been reading the Mortal Instruments trilogy by Cassandra Clare and I have got to say, they are some dang good books. I like to think they’re an equal mixture of Harry Potter and Twilight, with their own flare to add. Of course, I shant give any details of the book because I urge you to check out these books on your own. They are most excellent.

themortalinstrumentsThose are the books above. I am currently reading City of Glass. They really are enigmatic reads and I suggest you check them out. My favorite characters are Alec, Max and Magnus, though all the characters are well written. But that’s all I will reveal. Oh and I am secretly pulling for Clary and Simon as well as Magnus and Alec. I really want them to all end up together. BUT THATS ALL I WILL SAY! Haha.

Oh, and a sidenote: I have an 8AM class Monday thru Friday this upcoming semster. It’s CalcII. Someone please shoot me now. Ugh…

Hilarious…

Oh wow, I haven’t blogged in almost 2 weeks. Crazy! A lot has been going on. I will blog more about it, but today, is dedicated to a favorite new band I’ve discovered and something quite hilarious.

I have discovered the band called Matmos. They are this electronic band who, in the past, has used sounds like water hitting copper pans, the nerve system of crayfish, and the reproductive tract of a cow to make their music. Okay, like I already loved them at first listen, but now, I kind of love them so much more. There is something completely off about it all, but something so amazingly awesome about it. I am planning on purchasing all their albums via Amazon.com and their used section. All in all I will be spending like 7 or 8 bucks for 5 albums. I think, this is a very good deal.

My favorite song by them is one I bought on iTunes to hold me over until my albums come. Its called “Polychords” and its from their most recent effort entitled “Supreme Balloon”. I seriously love this song, and whenever I love a song a lot I will go to Youtube and see if there’s a video. Well, no OFFICIAL video, but there was this amazing little ditty that I had to post:

Isn’t this amazing? Like, completely ridiculous but amazing. I implore you, don’t WATCH the video first, but listen to the song. THEN, go back and watch the video. I like the real aspect of making Godzilla walking through the street as if this were an every day occurance. I wonder what other people thought of Godzilla being recorded on the bus. Would they call him by his name Godzilla, or maybe a nickname like Chad or Franklin. My favorite part of the song is at [2.25]. Mostly I love this part of the song musically, however you can clearly see an asian girl during this part looking in Godzilla’s direction and wondering what is going on. Then Godzilla waits to cross the street because he is proper and obviously does not want to be struck by an oncoming vehicle. Then you see Godzilla walking and a Virgin Megastore is behind him. Suddenly he turns around, quickly I might add, and realizes that he hasn’t heard any good tunes lately, and stops by to listen to some music with oversized headphones. All in all, this video is amazing. And I love it.

Oh my gosh…

Okay, I’m making this short and sweet. Sugababes…New single…”Get Sexy”…MUSIC VIDEO!! I am dying on the inside. So amazing!! SOO AMAZING! Oh…Well done!

Freakin weird…

Okay, so I found out like the weirdest thing ever today (this morning at like 2:45AM). Okay here it is:

Matt Lanter (of the new 90210, among other things) went to High School with me! Is this not the weirdest thing you have ever heard? I know it is for me. Here’s a photograph of him to show you what he looks like.MattLanter

Is this not strange? I am completely baffled right now. I went and grabbed my yearbook and sure enough, there he was. Completely shocking! He graduated two years before me, and I probably never knew him, but chances are I saw him at some point right? I am still in disbelief. I cannot believe a celebrity went to my high school. Ridiculous! I am definately going to have to keep up with this 90210 to see how he acts. What an interesting tidbit…It would have been cooler say, if he graduated with me. But, again, I also found out that a classmate that DID graduate with me has been drafted by the Seattle Seahawks. His name is Brandon Coutu. I was never friends with him but I did know him and I do vaguely remember having a class with him at some point. I think it was junior year, Algebra 2 with some woman, I think her name was McGrath or something. Anyway, that’s another interesting tidbit I discovered. Look at me, I am like so important now. Look at all these connections I have…I am amazing.

WHAT? Oh yes, another amazing song!

Posted in Music News with tags , , on August 2, 2009 by drewae

As promised, I have ANOTHER amazing song to share with you all!

It is by the so-called “Prince of Grime” Tinchy Stryder, at least his Wikipedia page calls him the Prince of Grime. I did not make that up, though I should have taken credit for it as it is quite clever. Anywho, I am currently obsessing over his new song with none other than Amelle Berrabah from the Sugababes. Okay, anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE me some Sugababes. Like seriously, I own all of their CDs (which is quite a feat since they’ve never been released here). Yes, I have imported them, cause their that dang good.

But we’re not here to talk about the Sugababes (that’s for another day). Tinchy’s new song kind of follows the same path as his last hit single “Number 1” (which ironically ended up at #1 on the UK singles chart). The name of it is “Never Leave You”. It has Tinchy rapping as he usually does, but what really makes this song for me is the chorus which is sung by the lovely Amelle. It’s almost as if she just breathes it out. It is so effortless and so beautiful. I seriously love this song and I predict it will be yet another huge hit for Tinchy. Now, he just has to conquer America, then he’s set.

So, here is the Youtube video. Amelle is looking smokin’ hot as usual. Remember, you have to fall in love with it too so watch the video as much as possible and obsess with me. Go on…OBSESS!!

She sang what?

I think everyone who even peeks at this blog knows how much I love music, and even more so, discovering amazing new music! I have been on this like amazing pop/r&b/hip-hop kind of vibe. And I have discovered two amazing songs, but will only blog about one right now and blog about the other later!

So, I discovered this song called “Silly Boy” a while back. It was “claimed” to have been sung by Rihanna and Lady GaGa. Well imagine my excitement at reading this and realizing all my dreams had come true. Hearing, even thinking, of a Rihanna/Lady GaGa collaboration is like having multiple shots of espresso back to back, the caffeine surging through your veins causing you to bounce off the walls uncontrollably. Well, this is the feeling I equate with how I felt when I read that. I found out, much later (today in fact), that the collaboration didn’t happen, and that a woman calling herself Eva Simons is the true artist behind the song. I do not discriminate against her, for the song speaks for itself. It is an amazing stomper of a track that is a triumph and brings happiness to my ears. Plus Eva has really cool hair, or at least I think so.

So, as I always do, here is the Youtube video for the song “Silly Boy” by Eva Simons. My favorite bit is at around [1.04] when she does that amazing dance/gyration thing towards the camera. Amazing! Though points are taken for having incredibly tacky mylar balloons spelling out your name in a music video. Really? She should have just had live goats running around on the set of the video. That would have been so much more entertaining.

My new…obsession

Oh yes. It is official. I am HOOKED on Gossip Girl. I knew it always existed, even watching the first episode when it first came out. But I eventually forgot about it. Until now.

GossipGirl

My wonderful friend Summer kept convincing me that we have to get hooked on this. She had seen some episodes late into Season 2 and wanted to know what’s been going on. I had seen the first episodes and parts of other ones and remembered KIND OF liking it. So I said, what the heck. I’ll buy Season 1 (It’s been on sale for $18.99…that is a huge bargain in my book).

Well needless to say, Summer and I are almost done, we have the last disc to watch (I’ve already watched it but she hasn’t so I shall be a good friend and watch it with her, again). I really am convinced this will be my newest guilty pleasure. It is a good series and its’ sometimes the most aggrevating bunch of stuff to watch, but really…Don’t we all wish we were eternally 16/17, with trust funds, living in a big city that’s basically our own personal playground? Yeah, that’s what I thought…I salute you Gossip Girl and all your ridiculousness. I love you. You will never forsake me and you’ll always be there when I need to satisfy my hunger of watching rich teenagers using schemes to get what they want. And just for the record, I have, and always will be on Team Serena. I also love Blake Lively. She is amazing, and you would love her too!
