A rather simple-minded and action-packed science fiction short novel that I started in 1985, finished in 2011, translated in 2025, and worked over in 2026.

M V'Charrs thinks he is the greatest space fighter ace in the known universe, but soon he is up to his neck in deep trouble. Travelling the galaxy as a shady hand for hire, he gets himself and his partner into one predicament after another. Even as he learns to know Liz, a clever and beautiful woman, he refuses to learn anything new. And all the time, Grange, his ex-boss and nemesis and unfortunately one of the wealthiest men in the galaxy, breathes down his neck. But when sinister forces attempt to take hold on his home planet, V'Charrs finally might get a chance to do something useful.
