Carpet is one of the most important daily necessities for the people of Xinjiang and is also a national intangible cultural heritage. Xinjiang's Hotan, once a major hub on the ancient Silk Road, has a 2,000-year history of handmade carpets. Hotan carpets are renowned for their high quality, excellent resilience, softness, durability, moisture resistance, and corrosion resistance, earning them the reputation of being "living fossils" and enjoying strong sales both in China and abroad.
