On May 22, the Tangbahu Lake wetland in Altay, northwest China's Xinjiang, was lush with vegetation, its waters clear and its banks green. As egret breeding season got underway, more than a hundred egrets were nesting and incubating their eggs here, weaving back and forth between the reeds and the water's surface. Due to sustained wetland protection and ecological restoration efforts, Tangbahu Lake has become a paradise for birds to inhabit and breed—a vivid picture of harmony between humanity and nature.
