Spring sprung and Summer is upon us

We’re humming along doing the usual things.

Molly wants to be outside as much as possible so we spend 3 to 4 hours in the backyard every day. Her favorite activity is hunting lizards and she catches them even though we’ve provided many lizard escape areas around the yard. We’ve rescued most of the lizards she’s caught – assuming they lived after we got them out of her mouth.

So far, the score is Molly 1, Lizards 5. Well, maybe Molly 2, Lizards 4. The last one had a small wound on it’s back that Mom rinsed with water. Hopefully it survived. We asked the vet about lizard germs and she said Molly is probably ok. But ick! Mom does not enjoy trying to pry lizard out of Molly’s mouth.

I’ll just rest here looking cute and wait for a lizard to come out from under the lattice.

I may be tiny, but I’m agile and fast. I hear something over there!

Wolfie enjoys the fresh air while he snoozes in his patio chair. I could take a similar photo every day. When we open the patio door for them to go out, he strolls over to his chair and settles in.

Occasionally he needs to air out his tummy, especially if it’s hot outside.

Molly’s Health Update

Molly is 5 yrs 1 month old. Not bad for a kitty who maybe wasn’t going to make it to her 3rd birthday! She had her “well kitty” vet checkup and it was overall very good news. The vet is concerned about how skinny Molly is and said we could offer a modest amount of non-prescription foods to try to help her maintain her body weight. Her kidney function is just a smidge worse than last year, but not enough to be concerned about. The vet recommended a 6-month checkup instead of waiting 1 year and for us to monitor her weight at home every couple weeks.

Pearl is the same age as Molly and doesn’t have any health issues other than some tartar on her teeth.

Wolfie will be 6 years old on August 10th. He’s still a big baby mancat who cuddles on his favorite blanket.

Although we don’t post much anymore, we visit your blogs and enjoy keeping up on all your antics. Stay safe. Purrs.

New Year’s 2026 Thankful Thursday

On a recent post from the kitties at Brian’s Home, we were curious about a box we saw in one of the photos. It looks like this:

An unopened Miwoowim scratcher box.

Wth a bit of searching, mom saw it was a nice looking big cardboard scratcher. Wolfie loves his cardboard scratchers, but it’s difficult to find them big enough for him. This one looked like a contender, so mom ordered one.

Pearl helped mom unbox it. She thought it was great for scratching and rubbing.

Wolfie heard the activitiy and decided to investigate.

He loves it!

It’s plenty big enough for him to lie down, with room to spare!

And the cradle scratcher is sturdy enough that it doesn’t tip over.

Molly came to investigate what her brother was doing.

The scratcher came with a skinny fish toy that Pearl had fun biting and playing with.

Here’s a short video of Wolfie enjoying a scratcher large enough for his mancat physique.

All the kitties are enjoying this scratcher and toy so we might have to order another!

A big Thankful to the gang at Brian’s Home for finding this scratcher and sharing it on their blog. Come hop along and see more Thankfuls.
