A while back I did a photoshoot for my daughter and her friends and let me tell you—we had a great time!!! I had a professional face painter lined up who unfortunately got sick at the last minute and I ended up doing the face painting myself–obviously not nearly as detailed and creative as a professional, but the girls were happy just the same. I had such a hard time selecting my favourite shots—there were so many cute, funny, & silly shots that together they make a pretty special set. My daughter was thrilled and we are putting together a frame for her room. To all of the wonderful girls who participated: Thank you so much!!! A while back I wrote about my kids growing up and posted a collage from my daughter’s photo session…well, no sooner did I hear “When will it be MY turn for special photos?”…so here are some shots of my other little model–I am LOVING that they are LOVING the camera 🙂

Not too long ago, I had the priviledge of taking maternity and newborn portraits for the C family…take a look!

Like any mother, I find it hard to believe that my kids are growing up so quickly…I feel like every time I turn around their pants are too short, or their shoes are too small…sometimes I feel a bit sad, but mostly I feel amazed.  Amazed at all of the learning, discovering, exploring, and yes, growing.

As much as I loved the early years, I am really loving where my kids are at right now: they are funny, clever, creative, and loving; they are independent yet still want bedtime cuddles; they love family game night, family bike rides, and family story time.  Their energy is endless, they believe in magic, they are joyful, they sing out loud in the shower, and they light up the room with giggles and smiles.  They work hard, and they play hard. 

My daughter is almost 8 and has recently discovered that she loves having her photo taken…especially when she get to choose the clothes, the hairstyles, and the shoes.  One day, we decided on a colour scheme, she searched her closet, we set a date, and we did a photoshoot.  We both had so much fun that we’re going to plan another one, maybe outside in the summertime.  Her are some of my favourite shots:

A few weeks ago I got to take some very fun family portaits.  I absolutely love the matching bowties–the mom made them herself!–they add such charcter to the photos 🙂

Better late than never 🙂 …I wanted to share with you some of the beautiful faces that I got to photograph last fall. As always, it was such a priviledge to capture the wonder and happiness of the holidays.
