Well, Christmas is fast approaching, and I am done shopping. I am so glad! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE TO GIVE GIFTS and see the looks on peoples faces or hear how happy or surprised they are to receive a gift from me.

I have always loved giving gifts rather than getting them basically ever since I have been an adult. Maybe it has had something to do with having my own money allowing me the independence to buy my own gifts for people. Maybe since online shopping has become so popular and Iv'e joined in on the popularity, it's given me way more shopping possibilities. Or maybe, it's just plain fun.

I however, don't think it's just one or two of those reasons, in fact, I believe it's all three!

There is another even bigger reason why I LOVE TO GIVE GIFTS AT CHRISTMAS HOWEVER, and until recently, that reason came to light.

God is in everyone who believes, and Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus, and I know that Jesus is the son of God, but God is also Jesus. Now that might sound confusing, and actually it is, but the gist of it is, God sent himself to earth as Jesus to spread his word, and then Jesus sacrificed himself to save us from our sins! That was the greatest gift of all!

So, since God is in me, the main reason I Love to give gifts, is GOD!

It is spring, but if I didn't know any better, I would think it was
November. We are in line for another brush with winter this afternoon, and into tomorrow. 1 to 2 inches of snow is expected for
our area, and even further south, near the Iowa border, something
like 6 or more inches is expected, in what they ( weathermen ) call a winter storm warning. YIPPIE! NOT! I tell ya, I am so tired of
cold, and snowy weather, that I feel like going to the window, and
yelling out. SCREW YOU WINTER!!!! LOL, ok that sounded dramatic, but
in all seriousness, it has felt very long this season, and most of
us Minnesotans are very ready for the warmer weather! Having dmd
makes winter that much more harder, because it's harder to breathe
in the cold, the snowy and icy surfaces make going places in the van
much more dangerous, and it's too cold to sit outside when you can't
move, so between the months of November to March you are stuck indoors the majority of the days. It's depressing at times, so when
April rolls around, ( no pun intended ) and it is still snowing, it's enough to make a person downright angry! This bit of snow better be it until next winter! I need the sunshine, and warmth! We
all do!

I can't get back to sleep, so I decided to write a blog. It's 7:48
AM, and I am watching roseanne on nick@nite. The wild lost last
night to Calgary 3-2, which sucks! I hope the wild make the
playoffs, but it will be tough. They have to beat Edmonton tonight.
It is still cold outside, and it doesn't feel like spring, and I
can't believe the baseball regular season starts a week from
tomorrow! I am excited to watch the twins this season, and I think
they will be really good with their pitching, and the addition of
Joe Crede at third! His power bat will help the offense with
homeruns, which wasn't something the twins hit a lot of last season.
I can't wait for summer, and the warm weather! I don't care if it
gets too hot too fast, I just want warmth! The older I get, the
more I can't tolerate the cold. This winter has been so long, and
I know I speak for all of my fellow dmders when I say. BRING ON
SUMMER!

I have been thinking back on my life, and I am disapointed in my accomplishments, and experiences, or lack there of! When I started
junior high at the age of 12, I went into this shell where I was
shy, softspoken, and afraid of what people thought of me. I was
only comfortable with close family, cousins, or friends of my
parents who I knew well, and grew up with. Because of this, I made
very few friends at school, and mostly kept to myself. Which of
course means I didn't participate in any extra-curricular
activites after school. This continued through to highschool, and
until I graduated. Sure I talked to classmates here and there, and I
was friendly, and polite when I was addressed, but the extent of our
conversations was "hi" or "how are you?", mostly small talk, and never anything outside of school. I used to say to myself that I
was shy, and selfconsious about myself because of the muscular dystrophy, and that it was nothing to feel bad about. Well I know
now that that was a shitty excuse! I have good friends now who have
duchenne muscular dystrophy as well, and they were outgoing, and
socialable in juniorhigh, and highschool, and they made friends,
and participated in activities and such, and they had the same limitations as me. They also went to college, and made more friends, and had great experiences. I did nothing! Even at
muscular dystrophy summer camp, where I was around other peers dealing with the same disability, it would take me until mid week before I would finally start to become more outgoing, and this was
especially true when my best friend Mike and I, who had been in the
same cabin and unit for like our first seven years of camp, were
separated. I looked up to Mike, and because he was outgoing, I
would follow suit, but the first year we weren't in the same cabin,
I went into that pathetic shell!

The bottom line is, I regret the fact that because I chose to be
shy, and insecure, I missed out on opportunity's, and
experiences that life is all about! Those times won't come back,
and I am left with regrets that I wish I didn't have!

On Wednesday I went out for the first time since Dec 2nd, and my pca took me to Super Wal-mart. I was quickly
reminded how much I HATE winter!!!! It was only 13
degrees according to the bank clock next to Wal-mart. It
was also windy, which of course makes it seem a lot
colder than it really is! Just going from the house to
the van, from the van to the store, and back again, I
was like burrrrr!!!! My legs and feet felt like ice
cubes. On the way home, in the nice heated van, I was
thinking about those people who actually like winter.
I think that those people seriously need their heads
examined! And I am not talking about just one doctor. I
mean like they need teams of doctors examining their
brains, with MRIS, CAT Scans, the works! Because how
could anybody enjoy being outside and freeze their ass
off, unless they had serious mental problems! Lol! I
WANT I SUMMER, I WANT SUMMER!!!! LOL!

The Super Bowl is Sunday. Pittsburg Steelers vs. Arizona
Cardinals, 5:25 PM on NBC. I would to see the cards win,
because the Steelers have won 5 Super Bowls, and this is
the cards first Super Bowl appearance. The Steelers are
favored by like 7, but I think the cards will win, 27-17.
Go Arizona!

Well, I guess thats it for now! Later!

The last week or so has reminded me why I don't like winter. Below zero temperatures, snow,
and blizzard like conditions. Yuck, yuck, yuck! Did I mention, yuck! Lol! It is 8 below
right now, and it was as cold as 22 below this morning. Burr! Throughout the state today,
schools were closed because of the ridiculously frigid temperatures. Monday it was like a
blizzard, and throughout this winter, we have gotten quite a bit of snow. I am so tired of
winter, and I can't wait for spring! I haven't gotten out of the house since coming home
December 2nd from St. Mary's hospital in Rochester after the tooth procedure/bleeding fiasco,
which is another story! Winter sucks, and for those of us who can't get out very easily,
it makes for a very long stretch of months!

The Gophers basketball team has been doing great! They are #17 in the country, and the way
they are playing, I think they will move into the top 10 soon! I think they have a great
chance to win the BigTen this season! The Gophers play at the Wisconsin Badgers tonight, and
they haven't won there for a long time, and even though the Badgers are unranked, it will be
a tough game to win. The Gophers record is 15-1, and 3-1 in the BigTen. I am not sure what
the Badgers record is. Go Gophers!

A U.S. Airways Airbus airplane crashed into the Hudson River in New York today. Miraculously,
all the over 140 passengers survived without too many injuries! The pilot did an amazing job of
landing the plane so that it stayed fully intacted, and afloat! There were ferries, and tugboats
surrounding the plane within minutes, helping to take passengers out of the emergency exit located
just above the wing, so the passengers could step out onto the wing, and onto the emergency rafts.
The last videos I saw on the news, showed the tugboats slowly moving the still floating plane towards
the shore, after all the passengers had been evacuated. They said that the pilot reported to the
tower shortly after takeoff that the plane encountered two bird strikes, which I heard from one of
the reporters turned out to be geese. A bird strike is when birds, or a flock of birds crash into
the propeller/propellers, or engine/engines of an airplane. It doesn't always cause the plane to
crash, but if it is a large flock, it can. In the case of this plane, they said that the flock was
very large. Congratulations to the pilot for doing a wonderful job of landing the plane, and saving
the passengers lives!

The Vikings of course lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in the playoffs! The Vikings coach Childress
sucks, and quarterback Jackson is absolutely terrible! The Vikings have to sign a free agent
quarterback this off-season through free agency who is actually good! The free agent quarterback I
would like to see the Vikings sign is Matt Cassel of the New England Patriots who stepped in this season
for the Patriots when Tom Brady was injured in September, and had to miss the rest of the season. Cassel
was very impressive, and led the Patriots to an 11-5 record, which in the very tough AFC, wasn't enough
to make the playoffs. He is also a very young quarterback, who could be the Vikings quarterback of the future.
If the Vikings sign Cassel, or a similar quarterback however, I still don't think Childress is the right coach,
and until the Vikings get a coach that actually knows how to come up with a good game plan, and manage a clock,
I think the Vikings will continue to be an average team.

Well, that is it for now!

Well, Christmas Eve is just 30 hours, and 27 minutes away.
Christmas came so fast this year! It has been so cold lately!
Below 0, and single digits, burrrrr!! We have also gotten
a lot of snow! Hopefully January will be warmer, like people
have been hearing. I wish there was more Christmas spirit
in the world these days! It seems like too many people think
that Christmas is all about presents, and decorations! The
TV commercials, and advertisements online, and the radio,
have made Christmas so commercialized, that so many people
have forgotten that the true meaning of Christmas is to
celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ! And I think it is
really sad that Happy Holidays has replaced Merry Christmas!
Well, I will always say Merry Christmas, and shame on
anybody who believes in God, and Jesus Christ, and won't say Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everybody!

We woke up this morning to find around 1 inch of snow on the
ground, and in some places in Minnesota they received
something like 5 inches. Yuck!!! This was the second
snowfall of the season. I am not ready for winter! It was
only in the mid to upper 30s the last couple of days, and
yesterday it was very windy, and rainy. In the morning, when
the worst of the storm came through, the wind gusted close to
70 mph in some places, and some areas closer to the
twin cities, there was some wind damage. When it came
through here, the trees were bending over, but it only lasted
for about 5 minutes. It was crazy! I also heard that in
Deadwood SD yesterday, they received like 43 inches of snow.
That's nuts! November is also historically the cloudiest
month of the year, which sucks, and I don't like when it
changes over to daylight savings time, because it gets dark
at around 5 PM, which makes the days seem shorter than they
already are! I am very much looking forward to Thanksgiving,
and Christmas however!

The Vikings play the Packers at the Metrodome Sunday at Noon,
and are going to kick their ass! The Gophers basketball
team starts the regular season soon! The Gopher football
team is looking to rebound against Michigan tomorrow, after
a disappointing loss to Northwestern last weekend! The
Gopher hockey team is doing great, and tied 2-2 with
New Hampshire tonight! The Wild are doing well! And
hopefully the Twins can sign a free agent power hitting
third baseman!

Well, the Twins didn't win the division, or make the playoffs, and the baseball playoffs are down to the Tampa Bay Rays, and Philadelphia Phillies in the World Series. The Rays, who I have been pulling for, knocked off the Twins hated rival Chicago White Sox ( booo! ), and the defending World Series champion Boston Red Sox. The Rays came from nowhere, finishing in last place 9, of their first 10 seasons as a franchise, until this year. It's amazing how they won the American League East, over the Boston Red Sox, and New York Yankees! Unfortunately for them, they are losing 3 games to 1, in the World Series to the Phillies, but game 5 was suspended after 5 1/3 innings due to rain, with the game tied at 2. The game, which was supposed to be resumed tonight where it left off, but once again, the weather changed plans. It sounds as though the weather is supposed to be better tomorrow night, so they should be able to get the game in. These delays might just be what the Rays needed, and if they can win game 5, once it is finally resumed, I think they have a good chance of coming back and winning the series, since they will be going back to Tampa Bay. Next season, I think the Twins, who came so close to making the playoffs this season, will have a great chance of not only making the playoffs, but of winning The World Series! They have a very talented young starting pitching staff coming back, who were already very good this season, and should only get better. They had some problems with their relievers this season, but Neshek, their outstanding set-up man, who missed most of this season due to a arm injury, will be coming back, and they had a young rookie show great promise in September during the September call ups. The only thing the Twins could use this off-season, is a free agent third baseman with 20+ homerun power, a decent average, and who is good with the glove. The Vikings are not doing too well, with a 3 and 4 record, and a veteran quarterback, who is just too old to handle a full season, and since the quarterback he replaced, is too inexperienced, and lacks confidence, and the third string quarterback is just a rookie, the Vikings chances are not that great. They are going to have to come out of this bye week playing much better, if they want to make the playoffs. At least the Gophers football team is doing great! They are 7 and 1, and 3 and 1 in the Big Ten, and are No. 20 in the polls. It looks as though they will be getting a great Bowl game this season! Who knows, maybe the Rose Bowl! The Wild are off to a great start, 6-0-1, the Timberwolves, who should be better this season, start tomorrow night, and the Gophers basketball team, who should be great in Tubby's second season, start soon!

Halloween is Friday night, and I have my room all decorated, and I have to get treats ready. I have a costume, it's a mask from the movie "Scream", with fake blood that pumps through the mask, and I also have a cape to go with it. I am excited!

We received our first dusting of snow Sunday, and it was sunny today, and got to 49 degrees.

Well, that's it for now.
