The Sequel

17 Nov

Well I’ve been blogging for five years as of this past September…In that time I have managed to use up all of the free storage space alloted for photos on this particular blog. So I’m starting a new blog. Maybe it will last another five years… maybe something cooler will come along. Actually, maybe something cooler already has come along since most of my friends don’t blog anymore. But the friends who do still blog do have pretty cool blogs….Anyway, this form of record keeping works for me. And I think I have at least two loyal readers. 🙂 So if you’d like to keep reading about our little family’s adventures check out the sequel to this blog aptly titled:

Thanks!

Did I say Blog enough in that post? 😉

Finishing up September…

30 Oct

Fall is always busy for our family so I’m catching up as usual… Here are a few more September highlights.

We went apple picking at an orchard near our house. The girls loved it. As soon as Malia discovered there was food just hanging in the trees she was thrilled. She kept taking bites of all the apples before I could get them in the bag. Leila had a great time exploring and searching for perfect apples.

This year we went to the state fair with my brother and sister. We checked out the usual wonders, ate some yummy mini doughnuts and cheered at the duck racing.

Natural History Museum

14 Oct

As the reward for finishing the Summer reading program at the Library Leila, Malia, and I got free passes to the Museum of Natural History. We had never been before and we had fun exploring. We stayed for about four hours and saw pretty much everything. There were a lot of cool things to see!

1st Day of Preschool

13 Sep

Leila just finished her first week of Preschool and loves it. We are doing a Joy School type thing with some of our neighbors. The night before she started we had a special dinner of Chinese food. Both girls love it. Then Leila got a special Priesthood Blessing from her Dad. It was really neat. You could tell she was really listening. And it helped me feel better too. The next morning went really smooth. Leila was sooooo excited. We took a bunch of pictures of course. She’s got a really cute bunch of girls in her little class. Then her teacher for the week said “ok wave goodbye to your moms!” Leila waved to me and then they went inside. She’s growing right up! 🙂 Joey and I are really proud of the amazing girl Leila’s growing up to be. It is neat to watch her learn new things and become even more kind and thoughtful towards those around her. We’re looking forward to a fun fun year of school!

After school we went and had a picnic at Thanksgiving Point. The weather was nice and it was fun to do some exploring outside.

Celebrating Seven Years

31 Aug

After our busy month Joey and I got a chance to celebrate our 7th anniversary in Park City. Our first night we ate at one of our favorite Mexican places and I got to watch Bonanza Town play at Flanagans. The next morning we enjoyed sleeping in and having a late brunch. We had all day on Saturday just to relax and hang out. We had fun walking on Main Street and found some great art. It was so nice to get away, and fun to celebrate seven years of happily ever after.

Recently Bonanza Town got to play at the Heber Concerts in the Park. It was a fabulous show! Joey’s parents got to come and Leila and Malia had a blast dancing to the music. It was a nice night outside and it was so fun to hear Joey and his band play.

Blackberries

Malia loves blackberries. I would let her eat them every day except this is what she always looks like afterward! It’s a big mess but it’s pretty cute too.

Swimming and Dance

31 Aug

Leila took some swimming lessons for a few weeks in August. She seemed to really like them and learned some good skills.

The week after swimming was over Leila started dance lessons at a studio in our neighborhood. She is so excited! She keeps talking about being a ballerina. She’s a pretty cute little dancer!
