- - Customer reports repeated Maaco paint issues under warranty; fifth visit had hostile staff and damaged tinting; seeks full refund and investigation.
Hello [PERSON_NAME], Thank you for following up on my phone call with your inquiry. Much appreciated.
My name is [PERSON_NAME] [PERSON_NAME], I am a career law enforcement executive with NCIS and a senior military officer with the USAR (retired). Bottom line up front: On 02 Jun 2022, I brought my 1998 Lexus ES 300 in for what I thought was a routine premium Maaco paint job. A contract was completed, and a payment of $2,400.00 was made for service upon completion. To date, I have returned my vehicle on four different occasions to correct issues with the paint job that were covered by the initial warranty provided.
Today, 21 May 2026, I returned for a fifth time after my roof wind deflector, removed and remounted by [PERSON_NAME], flew off during a recent trip, taking with it a large chunk of the last painting. To my surprise, underneath that chunk, I found that the previous painting that was supposedly sanded down to the metal and repainted was not. Today, unlike previous return visits, the staff was hostile and accusatory regarding a 'bad yet fair' customer review that was requested by [PERSON_NAME]. This behavior prompted my assistant to depart the store location without further discussion as it was clear that the atmosphere was toxic, unwelcoming, and extremely unprofessional.
Visit #1 - initial paint job.
Completed and paid for.
Visit #2 after 9 months or so, the paint began peeling, cracking, and fading in some areas. Returned without incident where the manager acknowledged the complaint. The vehicle was briefly returned as the Lexus numbers and lettering were not reinstalled on the vehicle after painting. No charge.
Visit #3 returned after 13 months - same issue.
This time management agreed with the complaint and stated the vehicle would be fully repainted. After 2 weeks, the vehicle was complete. No issue, no charge.
Visit #4 same issue after another 8-14 months. This time, one-fourth of the cost was assessed due to partial warranty lapse.
Fee paid ($650.00) Work performed. However, when I went to pick up the vehicle, the hostile environment and attitude in the office were both evident and unprofessional. Upon completion, the manager extended the warranty for 2 years against similar future issues. As I drove away, it was obvious the tinting on both front windows was ruined via cuts and scrapes.
Both needed replacement tinting. Also, the wind deflector on the roof was noted as loose and not mounted correctly. When I advised of this, the manager dismissed us, saying it was not their fault or responsibility, although all acknowledged it was not like that upon re-delivery #4.
Visit #5. Today's visit, 21 May 2026, was completely unprofessional.
After being ignored upon entry for almost 20 minutes, once we advised of our visit's purpose, we were immediately dismissed and given a phone number (NFI) to 'file a claim with corporate for any continuing complaint,' but not before making it clear that we were no longer welcomed in the store.
Summary: As a 35+ year senior-level retiree from 2 government organizations and the current CEO of my private property management business, I find the service, personnel, and unprofessional behavior abhorrent and totally unacceptable. This entire ordeal screams of organizational bias and unprofessional conduct, exposing potential liability issues in a number of areas for a number of reasons. I am making a final plea for fairness and equal treatment as a paying loyal Maaco customer. Clearly documented service has not been provided, with numerous failed attempts by local management to make it right, and has identified serious quality control issues and oversight in the Maaco product.
Minimally, I am requesting a full refund of funds paid for service along with another consideration for time spent chasing resolution and time compensation without my vehicle on four occasions. I would also expect an investigation into the circumstances and the results to be provided verbally to me, including any punishment deemed appropriate as I never want this situation to happen to anyone else in the future dealing with these employees and the manager. Truly, they are an organizational liability. I appreciate your willingness to listen and consider my request as we work to resolve this issue at the lowest level.
My request is simply for fairness and a refund for services paid for but not provided to standard.
Thank you.
I appreciate your consideration.

Used the pissed consumer site and placed a call to talk with a Live representative for Macco. Once call was placed the call rang once, ended and then asked me if my issue was resolved?
I selected the no option and then the site sent me to a follow-up page to rate the interaction.
Well... nothing was resolved.
Preferred solution: A refund or the work done correctly. Currently spent almost 2k
Poor quality and no feedback on a vehicle that has not been finish painted or reassembled or addressed in any way by Macco after a 2 years in a Macco shop in Savannah, Ga. Also was in the shop fire.

I have a Suburban that was not reassembled, finish painted and has damage in many areas. This vehicle was inside the Macco Shop in Savannah, Ga.
off Victory Dr. I have extensive photos of the vehicle if required.
User's recommendation: Don’t use Macco! I have spent two years dealing with this starting April 2nd, 2024. I want my $5,000.00 dollars back. I will then take the Suburban to another paint shop. Please note, if I cannot get this resolved, all my photos and experienced time line and efforts will be spread over social media with buyer beware. I would like to avoid trashing Macco if possible. I just want my $5000.00 dollars back on the plaint job and $1,000.00 to cover internal cabin damage on trim, headliner and throwing both bumpers and other metal parts in the rear of the vehicle on top of cloth seats. The Savannah shop had many swap outs of people in the shop and in customer service. I have been dealing with this nightmare for almost two years. I want my money back.

Day 62. Maaco in ***, *** has had my vehicle for over two months for a standard paint job.To all consumers. Beware
The saga continues....It's now Day 48. I was told last Tuesday June 9th that ,"I'll call you on Friday with an update". Unsurprisingly, that call never happened and my vehicle remain the the Maaco Twilight Zone.I know every franschise is run differently and I suspect that there are several Maaco franchises that are run efficiently, communicate with customers and place a premium of customer service. This Maaco in ***, *** does not do well in any of those categories and I would caution potential customers.
*** has had my 2006 *** LT truck for 44 days for a standard paint job. The cost of my car rental now exceeds the cost of the paint job to the vehicle yet no one calls.
No updates. I have called on four separate occasions and each time was told "couple of more days sir".
My patience has worn out

Took my truck in for warranty work and they charged me $400 to fix something they should have fixed it the first time and the owner of this Macco is not a good business person would not return a call very unsatisfied do not take your truck to Macco get a wrap for your vehicle
They painted my truck. I have a five-year warranty on the paint job.
I took the truck back 2 weeks later and showed the manager of the Maaco, and he told me that he would call me to fix it. So I took it in, and there's a new manager, and he's telling me that it's not under warranty because of rust. Now they have my truck sitting outside rusting.
I do not recommend going to any Maaco shops. I'm fixing to take my story to the news.

- - The color was guessed and incorrect.
- - The car has spots across the surface.
- - The workmanship appears poor.
The office personnel did not take the measures to get an accurate color to paint the vehicle. Instead, he guessed, and the color was wrong.
The car had spots over the entire car that appear as though the paint shop painted over them. Looks like poor craftsmanship.

- - Maaco Pearland damaged my car; steering column and antenna broken.
- - Paint has dents; mirrors/handles not painted; camera and plate not reinstalled.
My vehicle is at Pearland, Texas, Maaco. I went to pick up my vehicle today, and there were lots of issues.
They broke my steering column, the antenna, and there are multiple dents and marks in the paint. The side view mirrors and the handles didn't get painted. They didn't put my camera back or my license plate. They are telling me if I don't pick up my vehicle today by 5 PM, I will be charged storage and fees and that I have to pay in full.
I don't want to pay in full when my vehicle isn't even finished and they won't fix the damages.
I have pictures as well. Please contact me ASAP.
Preferred solution: I want my vehicle fixed correctly before I pay for it.
User's recommendation: Don't use maaco in pearland this is how my vehicle looks and they want me to pay in full and move it before 5pm today.
