TIME LIMITS & COURSE CUT OFFS
The New Bedford Half Marathon has a 3-hour time limit to finish the 13.1 mile race course. Â Runners are provided with a âclosed racecourseâ free of automobile traffic, but we are required by the City of New Bedford to reopen the streets to automotive traffic no later than 2pm. This includes the start/finish line on Pleasant Street. Â In order to meet this requirement, we have put in place several accommodations.
- Runners failing to reach mile 7 in 100 minutes will be safely diverted to Cove Rd. and County Street to -re-enter the race with a shortened course to the finish.
- Runners failing to reach mile 10 in 140 minutes will be stopped and offered transportation back to the Start/Finish.
This is for the safety of all participants and with the consideration that the streets need to reopen for vehicular traffic at 2pm.

New Bedford Half Marathon finisher medals for all half marathon finishers will be distributed at the finish line.
