Oh, mystery, that from dark and emptiness,

can come such joy, and with it endless

bliss.

With faith unquestioned, we can in loving fly, from star to star across the endless sky.

Beyond the intimations, of your fear, lies joy to carry you across the years.

So, would you live to love, and not to grieve,

in truth you have, but only to believe.

Tao #2

Tao #2

The Tao is an ocean into which we jump with love; whereupon we find ourselves transformed.

Like an acorn, that suddenly discovers it is an entire oak, every fruit upon it, it’s roots the Earth in which it grows, and everything in the entirety of existence, forever growing, radiating joy, and gratitude.

Love 07-06-26

Love is born in one heart

It is neither validated nor invalidated by reciprocation or its absence;

love that requires reciprocation plants the seeds of its own disappointment and dissolution.

Love is born from itself

To encounter it, even as a witness, is to be changed forever.

We hold it within, fearful that it will tear us asunder;

We refuse it, uncertain that once given it will be returned to us

As if it arrived because of the presence of another, and will depart without their approval, leaving us forever shattered.

If only we understood that love is not something that arises between people but only something can be shared between those who have already dared it.

We mistake desire for love which it is not, but rather the yearning for it which indicates its absence.

Love cannot be found simply in the joining of two lives or two bodies, it is not directed by will but rather by willingness

it arises, in the unrelenting determination to deny our fears, to examine ourselves and remove the lies from our hearts

allowing us to embrace the beauty, power, and endless tenderness of our own spirits

Leaving us living our lives in its endless deepening and touched by gratitude at the revelation of our own beauty.

Chastisement to bigotry

It is truly such to note that so many; so well bred, and so well heeled, are found to be such monstrous asses.

Summer Solstice Invocation

Summer Solstice Invocation

The time is come: let us assent, honoring this time of returning.

For all the dark days we have lain, silent as a seeds; our season of stillness complete.

Warmth rises from the Earth, flows across our warming skin; spring breezes birth our bodies sweet unfolding.

Something new arises, born of winter’s contemplations.

Our bodies fecund, awakened by the spirit sun, we feel our shimmering spirits; reaching toward the sky, and so, awakened, join again with all that lives.

The illusion of Solitude banished in the vibrant song of joy that is the ecstasy of our remembrance.

We open, love singing in our cells, to the sacred song of our unity.

Let us pause together and bid all life and each the other –

Welcome home.

SHINE

SHINE

Fortunate the ones who, in this dark world, refuse to surrender the bright spark of their own joy.

They live courageously, almost gleefully, denying the endless ensnarements of those who would use them as fodder for dreams of wealth and self-importance.

I know them as we pass, the glint in their eyes conveying an awareness of grief, rendered by their joy, mere subtext to the celebration of their victory over it.

Their courage, a palatable faith that others, denying fear and despair, might reject the emptiness of an objectified world and, paint upon its blank face their own radiance, a blessing greater in knowing an infants smile, a winter tree, or a single blade of grass, than any found in all wealth can convey, and knowing this, will join them and in that blessed meeting shine!

Light in A Time of Darkness

Light in A Time of Darkness

We all know that the residue of our lives flows from the land into the collected waters that nourish us, and the natural world around us; our thoughtful, or thoughtless, stewardship makes of it potion or poison enhancing or afflicting our lives.

We know from recent experience that the character of one individual can radically change the quality and character of an entire nation.

What we easily forget is that what each of us emanates: as drivers, shoppers, parents, students, teachers, contractors, or medical professionals; as people, in every role and situation, from simply walking down the street among others to performing the most important roles, of political or civic leadership; we create a milieu that surrounds our lives charging them with a tone, a quality that affects all we encounter.

Our lives in the human community are a composite of what each of us brings to the life we share. Every smile and every kindness lightens the hearts of those with whom we share them, and they in turn lighten the hearts of those with whom they connect afterwards.

Every selfish impulse or harsh act similarly takes something away from us all.

We have become so politically and socially hypersensitive, so reactive, that we sometimes leave negativity behind us and forget that the turmoil, the intolerance and even the violence around us are as much the product of what we create together as they are of the individuals who, through their greed and injustice become lightning rods for the negativity we leave in the environment around us.

Together, let us strive to fill our world with a little light, making it brighter, with every choice we make. 🌈❤️🦋

Light

Light

A moment, a breath, all things that bind me fall away

Bare feet breathe
Light flows,      the ghost breeze
spreads itself gently across my skin

All I have accomplished,

all I own,

Falls away

Though my mind would cry fear
What Dawns is freedom

The Taoist & the Scholar

The Taoist & the Scholar

Said the Taoist to the philosopher

“I’m certain your words are beyond my understanding and if known by my mind would display their greatness; sadly I have misplaced it and being delighted at my current state have little inclination to seek it out and set to work on such a project“.

Awakening

Awakening

Time is an illusion created by our belief that we are our bodies and our intellectual minds.

It ends when, growing out of fear, we remember ourselves timeless, radiant, and whole.
