Since at least 1830, Christians have been meeting on these grounds for Spiritual Revival services known as "campmeeting" for one week in the summer.  Set on over 100 acres of land in one of the fastest growing counties in the country, Shingleroof has been wonderfully preserved by many generations of Trustees.  Some say when they enter the grounds it feels like stepping back in time 100 years. 

What began as a Methodist tradition, now operates in an ecumenical environment with attendees from most Protestant faiths.   We continue to maintain an active, week-long, annual campmeeting held in July.  Among the week-long activities are morning and evening worship services in the covered, open-air pavilion (known as the Tabernacle) in the center of the grounds.  There are additional activities throughout the week for children & youth.  While many families stay on the grounds for the entire week in cabins that have been used by their families for generations, the entire community is welcome.  Campmeeting is held in a comfortable, outdoor setting that is welcoming to those who have never been to church but want to see what Jesus is all about!
