Where getting schooled is the name of the game.8th grade Math
The math I’m doing is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in math.
Half the time I don’t even no what I’m doing. Supplements only seem easy until you try to use one in a problem. It so hard to do problems you don’t even understand! But my dad is helping me to get through it!

The Start and End of Basketball
Dad felt bad that he didn’t get more pictures early in the season. He made up for it on my last game. I guess that’s OK because at least he couldn’t yell (too much) while he was taking pictures. We ended our season at 2-6, but at least we won our last game. And we won big. That felt good. Here are some pictures and video. (There’s lots more on our flickr and youtube sites.)
Watching from the bench. Almost my turn to play!
The longest sequence of events on video. A couple of possessions.

I think I deserve this little break. Don’t you?
It sure is a good thing we rebound well.
And we can score too.
The Gift of Christmas
At NACC, a church where we go to help people, I got to pass out presents this week. I loved it a lot!!!!!! Lots of people came to pick up there presents. Most of the little children were shy at first but they became excited when they saw the bag of presents.
Mom was up front near the registration tables. She would pray with people (if they knew English) asking God to bless them.
I don’t really know what dad was doing. He was outside the side door throwing a football with Judah. Lots of the little and some big kids played with them while their parents waited in line. It was a long line. It went almost to the street for a while. I guess it was about 75 yards.
Charity read her book and played and kept up with Moses.
I’m so glad we got to help out at NACC (North Austin Christian Church).
Tabitha’s got holes in her ears!
Tabitha has pierced ears!!!! She is so excited. Tabitha won Citizen of the Month and the reward is a night out with Mom, Dad or both enjoying an activity of their choice. Tabitha chose Mom and her activity was ear piercing. She was very scared but was brave. She decided to go with her birthstone stud. It looks great! Mom is a little sad to see her first born look so grown up, but it is inevitable and good.
Sadako and the the Thousand Paper Cranes
I have just read the book “Sadako”. It is about a girl who, as a baby, lived through the atom bomb. At age 11 she became sick with leukemia. You have to read the rest to find out!
First VB Game…ever
It was the first organized, real game I’ve ever participated in. Maybe not exactly an ideal start given the game started at 8:00AM on a Saturday after a longish night at my best friend’s preempted birthday slumber party the night before. (Just peachy, Dad!) Regardless of the time, we not only completed the game, but won 2-1. GO DIAMONDS!

And it’s 7:30! Put the camera down and back away. Maybe you won’t get hurt!

The first of hopefully many VB courts.

I told you Tabitha. The most experienced and dedicated players get here early! Dad’s not too bright but knows a few things.

Eating the celebratory doughnut. That’s right, team snacks at 9:00AM are donuts and SunnyD. You got a problem with that?

To the victor goes the juice box!

You could say it was fun for the whole family. Oh, I just did.
Bull creek
This last week we went to Bull Creek. This creek is a home to many animals and is a tourist attraction. We began a creek walk in a shallow part of the creek. Soon we came to a waterfall that (I would say) was about 20 – 25 ft long. The height of the waterfall was about 5-7 ft. Then we went a little farther and we came to a deep area where you can jump off a ledge into the creek. The ledge is about 7 ft high. (There is a rope swing here.) We had a blast.
Questions for ranger or naturalist of the Bull Creek Watershed:
- What types of fish are in the creek?
- What types of trees are here?
- What mammals live here?
- How was the creek formed?
- Have there been any dino bones found here?
- What reptiles and amphibians live here?
