Every other week I have the privilege of hanging out with this great group of girls. Activity Days give the girls the opportunities to interact with each other and have wholesome fun by participating in physical, creative, cultural, and service activities.
Last Wednesday, we spent the afternoon in front of a local grocery store and gave away homemade cookies and collected donations for the American Red Cross for Japan’s disaster relief. The girls were very excited that they were able to help those in Japan. We were amazed at how eager people were to contribute and they also enjoyed the delicious cookies we were giving away.
After 2 hours we called it a day and headed over to the San Luis Obispo American Red Cross. The staff was impressed with the girls willingness to serve especially on such a cold and rainy day. After counting the donations we were all surprised that we were able to collection $400 in such a short period of time. Thank you to the girls for bringing your youthful enthusiasm, the mom’s for helping to bake cookies, and our supportive local chapter of the Red Cross.
A few weeks ago we went to the park to just play. Alina came along and had a blast playing with the older girls. Here’s a little slideshow of some picture I took capturing the girls having fun.
