101th class!!!

BABIES!!! The 101th class has been announced!!
Why is noone talking about it?! (Or is it all happening on twitter? T___T )

Most interesting right now is that there is two girls from America, one can be seen in an interview here:
http://www.fnn-news.com/news/headlines/articles/CONN00243080.html

There is also a pair of otokoyaku twins this time!!

The second article says that they tried for the 3rd time and now finally got in (and even both of them! Lucky! ^o^)

(Also I am SO MAD I missed the announcement, AGAIN!!! T_T I want to be there live one day T__T
But it was muri to find out without asking one of the exam takers and that was a bit too creepy for me ^^; So I even was in mura today but one hour too late. Otherwise I am pretty sure we would have heared the screaming at our standby spot XDD )

Sora retirements

Even though I am sad that more of the "older girls" like J-ko, Eri-chan and especially Chiyako are leaving, I have to say:

OMG TOMOCHIN IS NOT RETIRING THANK YOU SO MUCH UNIVERSE!!! ;___________________;

That's all. ^^;

Chigi Ochakai

WEEKEND!!!
AND Chigi Ochakai tomorrow!!! *______________* SO EXCITED!! (pleeeeaaase let them have Nijinsky pictures!! )

The last "ochakai" like event I went to was Tani's sayonara party so I really look forward to something more happy and relaxed. ^^;

I know I still owe you a Kamen no otoko/Royal straight flush review and hopefully will get around to do it this weekend, sorry! >_>

Tiny book review

I know I never post book reviews, but I feel like I need to "warn" people from reading this one. XD

I stumbled upon a review of "If you follow me" on AfterEllen and the reviewer recommended it, and since my exams are over and I finally got time to read more I ordered it.

"Poor Marina. Her job as an English teacher in Japan isn’t exactly what she expected. She’s been assigned to a remote rural region, where her she lives in a small, dingy apartment, and her students run the gamut from the quirky to the perverse. It doesn’t help matters that she and her significant other, Carolyn, who is also a teacher, are having problems. (Each realizes—too late—that the foreign surroundings and circumstances have placed too much stress on their relatively new relationship.) A well-meaning administrator named Miyoshi does his best to help Marina navigate her way through difficult days. He benefits from the relationship, too; he’s able to practice his English. Marina soon grows fond of Miyoshi. Are her feelings for him simple gratitude for his kindness or something more?"

In short, lesbian teacher couple moving to Japan, doesn't sound bad, right?

The good point about the book is that I think this is how life as an JET in the inaka really could be like. The main character and her girlfriend are the only foreigners in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere, everyone knows them and everyone knows when they do make some stupid gaijin mistakes like not sorting the trash right and so on.
It also shows how they have problems to find close friends, realizing every now and then that some people only talk with them or invite them so they can have a free eikaiwa lesson or need their help with some kind of letter or something else, but nobody is interested in them as a person.

Also, I looooove they way she caught that "Japanese way of speaking English", things like "Maybe you should also order setto. It's better value, ne? We always order setto." (when the main character and her supervisor are in a family restaurant for the first time and he wants to show her how to order and she actually only want's a salad.)

SPOILER WARNING

The bad point was that BOTH of the girls end up with a guy in the end.
Seriously?! "I came all the way to Japan with my girlfriend cause I love her so much but oh, wait, I suddenly think my male japanese supervisor is much hotter than her."
And the other one fell for the only other male foreign teacher around, who was a huge ass and slept around all the time with his students but sure, much better than your girlfriend...
Nothing bothers me as much as lesbian girls (and at least one of them DID identify as lesbian in the beginning and not as bisexual) ending up with a guy in the end. T__T

I know that there already is that hint in the summary, but I was so naive to think that maybe this makes them realize how much they still do love each other and they get back together in the end... T_T

Of course a happy end would have been best, but I even would have been content with them simply breaking up and not dating anyone else or at least just dating a japanese woman instead of a man. :/

END OF SPOILER

In conclusion, the book isn't horribly written or anything, it even is a really nice description of what a life as a foreigner in Japan could be like, but I was just super disappointed in the ending. :/

Japanese Movies?

Okay F-list, I need your help!

I'm running a Japan club (für alle Deutschen: ne Japan AG) at my school for kids from 5th to 7th grade (around 12-15 years).

At the end of the school year I want to watch one or two movies with them, because I seriously am running out of any other good ideas at the moment. :/
(Recommendations of what to do with a bunch of teenagers who neither want to read nor write nor do ANYTHING that would involve actual actively working on something are also appreciated... ).

So, which japanese movies (real or anime) would you recommend for watching with them??

They shouldn't be too long (I only got about 90minutes) nor too complicated. They're still kids after all. ^^;

Please help me ;___;

DONE DONE DONE DONE

Guess what?

I PASSED MY LAST FINAL EXAM!!!
NO NEED TO TAKE AN EXAM EVER AGAIN!!

(except if I want to, like JLPT and stuff.)

I now am officially a completely finished teacher!!!!  ^_______________^

Thanks to everyone who had to endure my whining about my hate for oral exams. ^^;
I will now enjoy doing absolutely NOTHING and will burn all my notes. XD

Grey's Anatomy...

I'm normally not posting about the other stuff I watch besides Zuka cause I'm pretty sure no one cares but I just watched the newest Grey's Anatomy Episode and, without wanting to spoil anyone of you,

OH MY FUCKING GOD, NOOOOOOOOOOOO!
GAH, PEOPLE, YOU CAN NOT DO THIS!!! T____________T

First I was crying tears of joy and the next second because I was like "WHAT, THIS didn't just happen!!!" ;________;

*goes and rocks back and forth in a corner until the next episode comes out*

Earthquake

Just a really quick note for those that have not read about it on Anthys journal yet, I am fine!!
Things are slowly going back to normal it seems. More when I'm back home... >_>

WTF HANKYU

Okay, seriously, I rarely comment on transfers and stuff because usually I try to deal with it quietly but...

WFT HANKYU????????

I do understand that Tomu grew up in Hanagumi and she does fit into that troupe very well, but SHE WAS DOING SO WELL IN SORA! It took me some time to accept her as a part of Soragumi, but I have, and I really love her voice. She really deserves to be a top star, so I wish her all the best in Hana. But what about Sou-chan?? T_T

Kaname. Those who know me a bit better know that I actually LOVE Kaname! (I just don't post much about her...) I really really love her. And she is doing GREAT in Hoshi with Chie! SO WHY DO YOU HAVE TO MOVE HER??
And I might be biased because Sora is my favourite troupe but WE DO HAVE ENOUGH TALENTED OTOKOYAKU K THX!! >________________> (How about finally promoting TOMOCHIN a bit more?!?!)

It's not that I'm falling out of fandom (not any more than before...) but this seriously upsets me because it all seems so unnecessary.

DONE!!

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

I PASSED MY FINAL EXAM!!!! *_____________* (

Which means I am FINALLY going to start teaching FOR REAL beginning in February!

*bounces off into HAPPYLAND*
