Summer nights are the best time of the year to be outside stargazing, with the temperature pleasant and a light breeze to keep oneself refreshed. This elf knows it well, and chose this particular summer nights to spend immersed in his own contemplations and prayers to Elbereth. His attire is ideally tailored for a nightly stroll, made of pure white shimmering satin, with some blue accents as it fashion of the people who live along the coasts, and darker parts that blend with the midnight sky, from afar he might even seem like one of the Lady’s wisps of light.

I don’t have much of a lore snippet to go with this outfit, I just really like the look of these new pieces from the Midsummer festival and wanted to use them in an outfit XD plus I got to finally use that beautiful mariner skill

The Temámir emerged from their deep halls beneath Jiret-menêsh, long sealed and silent. The youngest of the folk of stone and forge now walk beneath sun and sky once more. It is their hope to renew the bonds of old, those ancient pacts of trade and council once held with the realms of Men and Elves. Yet they find the land much changed, scarred by fell sorcery and time. The young resolve that their future lies no longer only in the dark beneath the mountain, but in the open world, among the free peoples of Mûr Ghala. (from lotro wiki)

This Temamir dwarf is one of the first to have resurfaced after a long time and look at the ancestral home of his people being so changed, for the worst and Jiret Menesh, once the Jewel of the mountains, but a ghost town. The great lake that covered An Sheru is dried up, giant predator birds fly over the mountains and the men of Ordakh harass everyone and everything. While most other dwarves prefer the weight of an axe in their hands to fight against the invading horde, he does not. He feels too much anger and rage against these evil men and much prefers to break their bones with his fists, and announce his boisterous presence clad in a grand set of armour from the time before the calamity. Beware the fellow dressed in sky blue, for he fears nothing.

I gotta say, Legacy of Morgoth did not bring much to the table in terms of gear looks as most are recolors, but some quest rewards are unique looking, like the beautiful cloak, and the chestpiece and pants here. Sadly, whoever rigged them on player avatars made a mess and unless one plays race of Men male they look like a square block on other races. They look “alright” on dwarves because they already have blocky proportions of their own, so I was able to put this outfit together for a Blacklock fighter. Which is the correct name of this haradic clan, but as the name does not appear in Lotr or the Hobbit books, SSG had to invent a new name, as they did for the other clans. I really like the Temamir lore and looks, their culture is different enough that it does not feel boring at all. They also have their own language, but as SSG did not expand on it save for a few words, I am still going to yell Baruk Khazad!

Spring has sprung yet again in Middle Earth, and it is as always a great cause of celebration for all the Free People. Nature awakens, trees bear flowers that in the summer will bear delicious fruits that will fill the bellies of all Hobbits from the Shire to the hidden reaches of Cardolan and Enedwaith, something this hobbit lass knows very well and has been appointed by the Mayor of Michel Delving as this year’s flag-bearer to announce the arrival of spring. For this year, she chose the daffodil as emblem on both her clothing and the banner she parades around every hobbit village shouting “Spring has sprung!” and welcome even the birds and bees who will pollinate all the fields. Without them there wouldn’t be as many flowers after all!

Well! I am always happy when we get some rewards that are truly new in festivals, and finally the time has come (there is a weapon aura in the reward track, a warsteed hoof effect that are worth mentioning even if not festival), we get two new baubles along with the cosmetic clothes and decos and steeds, one of them is the flag featured here, that makes your character carry it around and lasts a few minutes. For the new clothes, I thought to go with complimentary color to contrast with the undyeable violet portions, the trousers here and you could use the dress with the same effect. Lorien gold for the violet, and the cloak I used even has the brighter purple trimming to match the shoulders. A fresh flower wreath to tie it all in and ready to go

Head: Circlet of fresh-picked flowers, summer festival reward
Shoulders: Daffodil celebration shawl, spring festival reward
Chest: Daffodil tunic and trousers, lorien gold dye, spring festival reward
Back: Cloak of the Mountain Meadow, violet dye, spring festival reward

The Red Elves, or Red Gnomes, lived at the North Pole with Father Christmas in the Letters from Father Christmas. They were first mentioned in a letter written on 30 November, 1932. They were sent for by Father Christmas in 1932, and helped him and the North Polar Bear capture many Goblins that threatened the North Pole and Father Christmas himself. The next year they fought a big battle against the Goblins, where many Red Elves got hurt. After that unfortunate battle, they received magic sparklers to keep the Goblins at bay, and permanently moved to Father Christmas’ Cliff House to help him sort the gifts for the kids and protect the North Pole. They spoke a Quenya dialect called “Arctic”and one of them, Ilbereth, became Father Christmas’s secretary in the later letters

Oh my, another outfit so soon! The new Jingle outfit from Yule festival is very cute, so I got inspired again. On top of that, I wanted to make a tribute to an outfit from The Starry Mantle, who many years ago made her own version of the Red Elf, but for a female character. While the Letters from Father Christmas are not part of the Middle Earth legendarium, there are still some connections with the rest of the mythology, especially the earliest drafts. Merry Yule all!

It is cold in the mountains of Ered Luin, even more so when winter comes. Nature goes to sleep, creatures of land hide in their holes and caves, and creatures of air in their nests. Everything is covered in a snow white mantle and sounds themselves are muffled as if surrounded by cotton. This is the right time for this elf to start her task. The snow masked the heavy hoof-falls of her horse, and both steed and rider are dressed to camouflage themselves in the landscape. Tones of white and navy color the elf’s wintry clothes, the soft footfalls barely make noise as she tosses white feathers around her. The feathers she knows will be collected by the birds at dawn, and used to insulate their nests from the cold. An odd task, some might think but one that for her is quite important

Heyoooo! It’s been some months, but I finally got inspiration again for an outfit thanks to the latest beta on Bullroarer for the upcoming Kingdoms of Harad expansion. The items I used here are level 160 gear, I am not sure where they will be available as on the test server they are bought from a handy npc, while similar to the Kinta gear that can be obtained questing in Legacy of Morgoth or doing the latest raid, the pieces here have a different color scheme, that personally I see better on a sinda/falathrim elf than an avar. Speaking of, lotro’s version of the Avari, the Kintai, will also receive new gear coming KoH, so I hopefully shall be inspired again to make other outfits, not just elf but haradic ones too
