Lil Update

ALL BY MYSELF
I did it myself, thats right, all by myself. I installed a digital thermostat in my apartment, can I get a What What!
I realize this isn't a big deal but I was pretty please with myself :)
ALL BY MYSELF
*I kept chanting the words "strong, independent woman" to myself as I was installing it because I really didn't want to ask anyone for help! HA!*

Some decorating...finally!
I have a very belated Christmas exchange with Leah's family in January. Leah and I discovered right before I moved out that we had the same favorite quote, and whua-la, she got it on a plaque for me :) I was in desperate need of things to hang on my walls.

Also, I got this from Leah's mom. Mom wanted my to show her what it looked like since I was pestering her from some pictures of Chelley's kiddos. Our family is so cute :)

Anywho, not much else to report, I work and go to School. Thats about it.

I realize the pictures I posted are crappy, but hey, you're lucky I even took any!!!!!!

B had a baby!

So most of you will have no idea who I'm talking about, but my friend Bonnie from work has been trying to get pregnant since I moved here. 5 YEARS! Anywho, she just had her first baby girl on Sunday :) This is Chloe...(middle name still undecided). Ain't she cute!! This is the first time I've been around someone who's had a baby that I can actually be around within a couple days. It was so much fun taking pictures. I can't wait to do that when Chelley has her little boy. That should be any time now...right? Hollie, Kellie, you guys too right? Paula, you guys need to move here when you get preggers some day, no pressure though :)

Here she is..... *sigh* i love babies

2 Months Later....

I know, I'm always taunting this family with my disappearing act. Oh well, deal. To my defense I haven't really had a home for a while nor a computer with working internet. But I'm back in the real world baby!! Internet and all :)
So I made an Awesome dinner tonight....yes I did cook it myself. I do recommend trying the recipe. I found it here. I love this website, Picky Palate.

Quick Weeknight Asian Turkey Lettuce Wraps

2 Tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 Cup finely chopped onion
1 lb ground turkey breast
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
¼ teaspoon garlic salt (I used Lawry’s)
1 12 oz bag of Broccoli Slaw (found it at Super Target, saw it at Sprouts also)
1 small can drained water chestnuts
½ Cup Yoshida’s Teriyaki Sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
Approximately 15 Butter Lettuce leaves (you can also use iceberg lettuce leaves)

1. Place oil into a large 5 qt skillet or other large pan over medium heat. When hot, add onion and cook for 5 minutes to soften. Add ground turkey, salt, pepper and garlic salt. Brown and crumble until cooked through.

2. When turkey is cooked, stir in broccoli slaw, water chestnuts, teriyaki sauce and sesame oil. Cook for another 10-15 minutes or until heated through. Reduce heat to low until ready to serve. Serve spoonfuls inside lettuce leaves. Enjoy!

If you wanna see pictures do to the link above. If you are like me you won't cook anything unless you actually see a picture. Just let me say, this is NO PF CHANGS lettuce wraps but it tastes really yummy and pretty healthy. (ignoring all the sodium) Actually it kinda reminds me of beerocs (don't think that is spelled right) filling. Anywho, try it, like I said, its no PF Changs but its good.

I'm BACK!!!!

Hi there Friends!!
So it seems like I've been gone for a while (since Aug.10th to be exact)....ya, sorry bout that. I figured I should give into the heavy sighs from my mom and evil texts from Ryan about updating my blog!
Ok...well I have a pretty good excuse! I'M BUSY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Driving...
Working...
Driving...
School...
More Driving...
Sleeping...
and the occasional frozen dinner thrown in there.

Although, today was quite exciting....
So I get up this morning and my gas gage dings for me to fill up! Well that doesn't scare me, it dings all the time! Just ask Ryan...seriously, every time he's in the car it dings. Anywho, I was pretty high on my miles for my tank, but I just said a little prayer and started on my way. I DO make it to work, safe and sound. Work ends at 6:00 and I hop in my car and start heading off to the local Target. I pass gas station number one, less then a block from my work, and I start sputtering!! Its too late to flip my car around, so I turn the corner, coast my way to the mexican resturant beside the gas station and Whua-la! Crisis solved. I did have to buy myself a little 1 gallon tank, but thank goodnesss I was close to the station. Good thing I said my prayer this morning! :)

P.S. I saw Twilight last night....but don't ask. It's too devistating. I did laugh alot though, just not for the right reasons.

Ok..so what are some lessons learned here. Next time,
1. apply for my loan for Fall AND Spring, not just Fall :(
2. Apply for FASFA next year right after I get my tax information, instead of the last day before the deadline
3. Register for classes sooner and buy books sooner, so I don't have to purchase NEW ones.
4. Well thats it.

Ewww....

I have a Cankle...or is it C-ankle....or K-ankle?

Either way, my ankle is huge and disgusting. I think I'm falling apart. My friend from work (Brandi), we have started walking at night. There is a wicked awesome pond/lake thingy right between us, its one mile around the lake/pond. Anywho, our first night was very successful, we did two miles, but my heel on my left foot had been hurting all that day. Reguardless, I still walked, I was fine. The next day we went only one mile. When we started walking, I grabbed a leave off a tree, we were walking, talking, I ripped it to shreds. I just do that, don't know why. Half way through that first mile my hand starts tightening up and my palm starts itching. Needless to say, we stopped at a mile and I got some medicine from Target. Back to my Cankle...We were supposed to walk again last night, but I noticed my ankle on my left foot felt weird. It was huge! Eww...
Brandi's husband is a massage therapist, I don't know exactly what he did, but he looked at it for me, felt around and told me I probably tore a muscle. I really don't know :(
I was going to post a picture of it, but honestly, Eww again for the 3rd time, I just couldn't do it.

On to more news....
I am officially registered for classes!!!! My first semester is going to be a light one...
Mon. and Wed. I will be in English from 6-8:15 and Thurs. I will be in Graphic Design from 7-9:45...Thats P.M. people!!! I think the 9:45pm will be a small challenge, but I'm better at night then morning. I start Aug. 18th. Yippy!

Last but not least....Breaking Dawn is coming out this weekend!!!! YESSS!!!!!

Here it is....

What do you think?

Here have been my reactions:
1. People like it
2. People didn't notice (yellow! I cut off 8 inches)
3. Someone thought I just highlighted my hair....ONLY!
4. People didn't recognize me

This is the first time (in a loonnnggg time) that I have cut my hair and 100% loved it! The girl that cut it, kept saying "Holy crap you have a lot of hair". She even used a few choice words when washing and trying to comb out my hair. Well welcome to my world I say!
I didn't ask her to thin my hair out, she just kinda took it upon herself to do it, I would have told her no if i knew, but she did a really good job and it's a whole lot cooler now :)

Lets think about this....

Ok people. I haven't started school and I'm already worried. Yes, its stupid. I once had my speech teacher tell me that if I wasn't such a perfectionist (basicly telling me that I was too anal) that I would do better in class. I was like WHAT!!! I'm pretty much the laziest person I know, not to mention that I procrastinate like nobody's business, I am not a perfectionist.

AHHH....anywho

I pride myself (just a tiny bit) on being.....hmmm....somewhat computer savvy. I had some mad skills with Photoshop, so I've been told. I had to take a test for my college classes. Basicly I need to test out of MGD101 to take MGD105. I'm assuming most of the human population can test out of the 101 class. It tests you on your basic knowledge of Macs. Hello! I work with Macs on like a daily basis! Me..I'm like "this is gonna be cake!"

You have to had a 70% or above to test out of the class....

What did I get??

70%

WHAT!! I'm highly disappointed and shocked!! I BARELY tested out of that class. *Sigh* I've never been good at taking tests...too much pressure. Keep your fingers crossed for the rest of my college life.

:(
