Using Search Filters
Click in the search box to see available filters. You can filter your search by content type:
- Measures - Search bills, resolutions, and other legislative measures
- Hearings - Find upcoming and past committee hearings
- HRS - Search Hawaii Revised Statutes (state laws)
- Legislators - Find legislators by name or district
- Committees - Search for committee information
- Documents - Search PDF documents and reports
Selecting Filters:
- Click a filter pill to select it (it will highlight when active)
- Select multiple filters to search across different content types
- Click "Enable all" to search all content types at once
- If no filters are selected, the search will include all content types
Searching for Bills
To find a specific bill or measure, simply type the bill number in the search box (e.g., SB123, HB456, HCR45). The search will automatically detect bill numbers and take you directly to the measure status page.
Search Tips
- Use the Measures filter to search bills, resolutions, and other legislative measures from the current session
- Use the HRS filter to search Hawaii Revised Statutes (state laws). To find a specific section, use the "Browse HRS Sections" link on the HRS page
- Use the Hearings filter to find upcoming and past committee hearings
- Use the Legislators filter to find legislators by name or district
- Use the Committees filter to search for committee information
- Use the Documents filter to search PDF documents, committee reports, and other files
Note: You can combine multiple filters to search across different content types simultaneously. If you don't select any filters, the search will include all content types.
