Is it Better to Suffer Injustice than to do It?

Gorgias. Salvatore Caracciolo, 1935. Located in Syracuse.

Gorgias. Salvatore Caracciolo, 1935. Located in Syracuse.

    Audio version available here:

    https://counter-currents.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/BetterToSufferInjustice.mp3

In Plato’s Gorgias, Socrates asserts that he would rather suffer injustice than do it, because committing injustice harms the soul. At first, this sounds totally cucked, like something a Ned Flanders conservative who conserved nothing would utter. (more…)

    The Racial Exorcism of England:
Displacing the Host Population By Displacing the Ghost Population

The Brown Lady of Raynham Hall—a spook in both senses of the term?

The Brown Lady of Raynham Hall—a spook in both senses of the term?

    4,925 words

October being the month of both Hallowe’en and Black History Month UK, the (super)natural question arises: why are Britain’s ghosts so overwhelmingly white?

All across the nation, country houses, castles, lonely woods and graveyards are haunted by White Ladies aplenty, but the only Brown Lady I know of, that famously photographed floating down a staircase at Raynham Hall in 1936, appears to have been something of a fake. In this sense, the Brown Lady—actually brown of shawl, not of skin—could stand in as an apt spectral symbol of the fake past of the country being promoted by BHM UK in a wider sense. (more…)

    Dear White Women, Part 2

    4,102 words

    On Being White in America

The book’s first section opens with a chapter audaciously titled, “Excuse Me, I Don’t Have White Privilege.” This begins:

John is a White man, an airline pilot, and on his off days, he goes running in the neighborhood for exercise. In the summer, he goes in the morning or evening when the temperatures are cooler; in the spring or fall, he might go in the afternoon when the sun feels just right. He doesn’t really think about when he is going, other than when it is convenient for him and feels good. When the time comes, he throws on whatever exercise clothes are clean—his preference is usually some combo of readily available dark blue, grey, or black clothing—laces up his shoes, tucks a key into his inner pocket, and is off. Rejoice! The Age of AI Movies Is Here!

Elon Musk’s version of the Odyssey.

Elon Musk’s version of the Odyssey.

    1,058 words

It is not often, these days, as I sit through the beginning of the winter of civilization, that something in the news cheers me up. Recently, however, something did. Elon Musk released a seven-minute clip of his own version of The Odyssey. Naturally, it attempted to actually be faithful to Homer’s original; meaning no black Helen of Troy, or black people at all, let alone a transman playing Sinon. Crucially, he produced this clip with Grok Imagine; with AI. (more…)

Sara Blanchard and Misasha Suzuki Graham
Dear White Women: Let’s Get (un)comfortable Talking about Racism
Chicago: The Collective Book Studio, 2021

Q: What happens when you cross an American with a Japanese, and then send the kid to Harvard?

A: She’ll find another just like her, and the two will write a book called Dear White Women, subtitled Let’s Get (un)comfortable Talking about Racism.

The above sounds like a lame joke, but it happened. (more…)

    3,749 words

    Juha MerilÃĪinen
Putin’s Altar Boy: The Russian Orthodox Church and Russia’s Wars of Aggression
    Minneapolis, MN: Fortress Press, 2026

Throughout Western history first the Church and then many churches existed apart from the state. God and Caesar, church and state, spiritual authority and temporal authority, have been a prevailing dualism in Western culture. Only in Hindu civilization were religion and politics also so distinctly separated. In Islam, God is Caesar; in China and Japan, Caesar is God; in Orthodoxy, God is Caesar’s junior partner.

    Attack of the 50-Foot Niggaz:
Overinflated Black Egos, In Flesh & In Stone

    2,243 words

Proverbially, black men are supposed to have large penises—but that’s nothing compared to the oversized dimensions of their collective egos.

Igho Ubiribo is (or was) a prominent Nigerian social media influencer, known online simply as “Ego,” because he already had a big one of those. Although no doubt naturally well-endowed anyway, Ego was nonetheless a regular patient in the world-leading penis-enlargement clinics of Singapore, having his brown balloon pumped up even further by tiny yellow medics—until eventually, this March, it finally went “POP!,” pricking his Ego forever. Foucault’s The Order of Things at Sixty

    2,911 words

    Michael Foucault
The Order of Things: An Archaeology of the Human Sciences
    London: Tavistock Publications, 1970 (translation)

There is an important point to be made about post-structuralism, and although I have made it before, it can’t be over-stressed. Michel Foucault, Jacques Derrida, François Lyotard, Jean Baudrillard, Roland Barthes, and other cast members of what many on the Right see as a French farce are not necessarily unfairly blamed for the epistemological chaos of the world as we have to live in it, but those pointing the dirty end of the stick often haven’t read the first word of any of these writers. Gurdjieff & Evola:
Notes on the Possibility of Synthesis

Julius Evola (on the right) on a mountain trip with friends.

    1,273 words

Scott Mallett’s essay, “Gurdjieff and Julius Evola”, which you can find at his mordantly-titled Substack “Pyreside Chats,” offers readers a compelling vision of two of the twentieth century’s most uncompromising critics. After learning that Evola was close to one of Gurdjieff’s leading pupils, I decided to revisit Scott’s article and ponder matters further.

Julius Evola and George Ivanovich Gurdjieff approached the spiritual crisis of modernity from complementary angles: the one restoring a vision of metaphysical hierarchy, the other diagnosing the broken human being incapable of perceiving or ascending it. (more…)
