Culture Wars Magazine is a monthly print and digital publication founded by E. Michael Jones that explores cultural, religious, and political issues from a conservative and traditionalist perspective. It presents essays, reviews, and commentary on what it calls “cultural warfare” in the modern West, often critiquing modernity, liberalism, and shifts in social values. The magazine positions itself as a resource for understanding how cultural change serves political and ideological power, framing contemporary debates through a lens of faith, tradition, and moral critique.

Traditionalism has become a gnostic ideology that, even though sometimes correct in its analysis of the crisis in the Church and world, nevertheless makes one spiritually sick, as one becomes more attached to the traditionalist movement, its narratives, personages, publications, polemics, criticisms, etc., than to the Church herself and to Christ. The apotheosis of idiosyncrasy is a formidable American temptation…
The impending excommunications should be seen as an act of mercy on the part of Pope Leo XIV. Charity has no meaning divorced from the truth. If Pope Leo were to overlook the gravity of the SSPX illicit consecrations, he would be facilitating the damnation of those who break communion with the vehicle of salvation which Christ created when he made Peter the first pope and gave him the power to forgive and retain sins (my emphasis)
In spite of its emphasis on the delusion known as the “rational choice model” taught in its classrooms, Harvard was the best place to study real world economics, because capitalism, which is the theoretical basis of economics in the English speaking world, began as the looting operation known as the Reformation and has been involved in looting ever since. The leveraged buyouts of the 1980s are another example of looting masquerading as economics. Ever since the 1980s, criminal behavior has been the hidden grammar of real-world economics, which is the science of looting, theft, and insider trading. ..
This is Murray’s positive case in its full structural form. He is not describing a regime he admires. He is pointing to a historical achievement and saying: this is what natural law reasoning produces when it succeeds. The constitutional commonwealth is his demonstration. The founding mechanism through which it was constituted is therefore not peripheral to his argument. It is presupposed by it…

As Jones continually reminds people – not least that most contemptible cohort of incoherent Catholics who insist, despite the unequivocal and unchanging and unchangeable rejection of racial ideology by the Catholic Church, that they are ‘white Catholics’ – the Jews don’t have bad blood or bad genes or faulty DNA. No. The thesis of Jones’ book, arising from the basis for Catholic opposition to the Jews, is that rejection of Jesus Christ – the Logos Incarnate – involves a rejection of logos (lower case), the operating system of the universe, originating in the Divine Mind, and including the moral order...
John Milton succeeded in justifying God’s ways to man by making the line in his epic Paradise Lost one foot longer while retaining the same iambic rhythm. Throughout its 10,000 lines, Milton never abandoned iambic pentameter, the classic pattern for the English epic, and that form allowed him to heighten dramatic emphasis, mimic speech, or convey grandeur—without ever abandoning the underlying structure, making Paradise Lost the most influential example of blank verse in English literature.
I remember exactly where I was. I could not have been more than seven years old, sitting in my childhood home while my older sister played the record for me, smiling knowingly. Even as a first grader the refrain resonated. I did not understand the broader context of the album or the critique embedded in the lyrics, but I instinctively agreed with the sentiment. I already sensed the presence of systems and authorities attempting to impose their will on my mind. The song captured the thrill of rebellion against a machinery that even a small child could sense was controlling him…
The Word of God as understood in the Church from the beginning teaches that all of mankind had a common language from the time of St. Adam and St. Eve until the Tower of Babel. According to the sacred history of Genesis, God supernaturally confused that language so that only the descendants of Eber (from whom the word “Hebrew” is derived) retained the original language while the various family groups received a new, distinct language out of the confusion, which nevertheless retained some “confused” elements of the original language…
Americanism is not primarily an ideological position consciously adopted. It is a formative condition. Catholics raised within American civic life receive the legitimacy of its governing authority as a settled fact long before they encounter the Church’s teaching on political authority. By the time theological reflection begins in earnest, the decisive premise already feels fixed. This is why Americanism persists even among Catholics who reject liberalism, criticize modernity, and oppose cultural decay: the political order’s authority has been internalized prior to examination…
Emboldened by the support she received online, Carrie claimed that Patrick had no right to remove her from the committee and rebutted the charge that she had “hijacked” the meeting. The opposite was the case. The Jews had hijacked not only the meeting but American culture as a whole by capturing the government through bribery and making support for Israel mandatory for all American citizens under pain of being demonized as an anti-Semite...
Righteous David wants to know, and he asks and answers this question throughout his psalms. In fact, most of his poems ponder the schemes and fate of the wicked. His enemies are his muse, but he is determined to meditate righteously and discover God’s thoughts on this vexation. If we would do the same, then we would understand the real problem of evil and the Jewish spirit with perspicuity today...
Let’s get this out of the way right now – the Jews of today have no proof that they are genealogically related to any Israelite tribe let alone the inhabitants of the Kingdom of Judah which is what the word Jew originally meant. Yet, everything is blood blood blood with these people. You are not special because of your alleged Israelite DNA, nor are you special because of your alleged blood relation to the Messiah, “Catholic Jews.” No person alive today can prove he is a descendant of an Israelite, therefore by the Jews’ own standard, none of them are real Jews!…
That date marked a decisive moment, at once sad and promising, not only for the Turbay family, and not only for Colombia. After the speech, Claudia turned to the camera of one of her advisers and said: “I am deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Charlie Kirk. My heart is with his wife and children.” Like Charlie, Miguel sacrificed his life in a political act that made no sense at all…
Along these lines, “the Left saw in the Moynihan Report a roll-back of its sexual freedoms. And, in short, it was afraid.” Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. initially supported the Moynihan Report. Yet in 1965 when Moynihan flew to Miami to appear in “a Ford Foundation-funded Leadership Training Program for black ministers” where King was in attendance, the key civil rights leader allowed Moynihan to be harangued by event organizers, “who consistently stated one untruth after another,” the Assistant Labor Secretary recalls, “about me, about the United States, about the President, about history, etc. etc.”
In the face of Nick Fuentes’ pseudo-scientific racism, it is heartbreaking to realize that the greatest Christian place of pilgrimage in Sub-Saharan African stands as a monument to the last generation of Catholic missionaries who transmitted the Church’s authentic teaching on the special creation of Adam and Eve and the divine institution of Holy Marriage between one man and woman for life. Indeed, Pope Leo XIII wrote his encyclical Arcanum in 1880, to exhort the bishops of the whole world to defend the traditional teaching of the Church on Holy Marriage in the face of the efforts of Freemasons and other enemies of the Church to introduce legal divorce into Catholic countries like Italy where it was prohibited by law at the very time that French missionaries were evangelizing the people of what is now Uganda.
What could possibly go wrong?
The crisis was real, the defects were named, and the lawful path was reaffirmed. What followed in 1787 was therefore not compelled by necessity, confusion, or institutional breakdown, but by a deliberate choice to abandon a process that had just been explicitly reaffirmed.
There are two sorts of wealth getting, as I have said; one is a part of the household management, the other is retail trade; the former is necessary and honorable, while that which consists in exchange is justly censured; for it is unnatural, and a mode by which men gain from one another. The most hated sort, and with the greatest reason, is usury, which makes a gain out of money itself, and not from the natural object of it. For money was intended to be used in exchange, but not to increase at interest. And this term interest, which means the birth of money from money, is applied to the breeding of money because the offspring resembles the parent. Wherefore of all modes of getting wealth this is the most unnatural.
The merchant class had little patience for manners and none for ceremony. What they required was validation. Calvinist theology delivered it. Predestination can provoke anxiety; after all, the prophet Malachi tells us, “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated” raising the question, “Which brother am I?”. Pondering this question Predestination transformed economic success into metaphysical confirmation. Prosperity became evidence of election. Hard work became sacramental. Efficiency became obedience to God. Scripture was mined for principles, not mystery. Christ became a manager of talents rather than the refuge for poor souls.
Here in the England of 2025, the 500 or so babies aborted each day make up only a small fraction of the 120k daily victims worldwide of the relentless war on the preborn child. With 45.1 million killed worldwide in 2024, abortion is now the biggest killer, far exceeding the combined totals for infectious diseases, cancer, road accidents and smoking. And then there’s the genocide in Palestine, with the 1917 Balfour Declaration providing the Jews with what they seem to have taken as a permission slip to set about the erasure of the Palestinian people, the genocide of whom entered its climactic phase on 7th October 2023. The numbers in this most intense phase – now estimated at perhaps a half a million dead Palestinians – account for a mere four days’ worth of abortions worldwide…
Martin de Azpilcueta (1492-1586) was one of the three original thinkers that began the Salamanca movement, along with Francisco de Vitoria O.P. and Domingo de Soto O.P. He obtained degrees in philosophy and theology at the Universidad de Alcala and obtained a doctorate in civil and canon law at the University of Toulouse, France in 1518. He became the chair of Canon law at Salamanca in 1524, where he was Diego de Covarrubia’s teacher. He taught at the University of Coimbra, Portugal by invitation of Emperor Charles 5th and King Joao 3rd of Portugal. Martin de Azpilcueta was a pioneer in modern economics, by formulating the quantity theory of money…
So, what does this film itself tell us about the evidence for the Holocaust? That is the important question. There are a number of issues that need to be looked at, and first of all surely is the question of legality and overall fairness. This is discussed, but only very briefly, at the start of the film by Associate Justice Robert Jackson (played by Michael Shannon), the chief American prosecutor, and his legal assistant, Elsie Douglas (played by Wrenn Schmidt). They consider the problems of establishing an international tribunal at which to charge certain crimes against the surviving Nazi leadership. Jackson notes that there is no legally established precedent for this…
Happily, some stones are still standing. After my name was removed from the ‘12 Pubs of Christmas’ night list due to the “scandal” I was causing by informing the proper authority that I thought my Irish seducer was merely practicing with me to seduce more Latin Mass women, particularly those with a job or money, I pressed that his name be removed from the official list to give his name the same grief given to the woman he attempted to seduce before me. Such an act would hopefully warn the other women and prevent him from using the mantle of righteousness shared by anyone who claims he/she attends the Latin Mass…
On April 30, 2020, an FBI asset known as “Thor” arrived in Lansing to recruit members of the “Wolverine Watchmen,” who would later be charged in the kidnapping plot. With “Thor” calling the shots for his FBI handlers, the Michigan Police guarding the capitol during the COVID lockdown protest suddenly stood down and let the protesters, “including those in full tactical gear,” which included weapons, into the state house…
In order to support Jones’s claim that greed was the cause of the Reformation, he has to claim that the Middle Ages had no paupers or poor people. He quotes Cobbett to this effect, “Englishmen in general suppose that there were always poor-laws and paupers in England. They ought to remember that for 900 years under the Catholic religion there were neither” (p. 74). I think the serfs of the Middle Ages would beg to differ with this surprising claim. He states that the Roman Catholic Church was the only bulwark against usury. I was surprised to read this, as the Westminster Larger Catechism is quite clear that usury is sinful…
By excluding Jews as signatories Professor George seems to imply that all Jews are in favor of same-sex marriage or that they are not open to the natural law. The absence of their signatures was a harbinger of things to come. During the halcyon days of 2009, when princes of the Church were at his beck and call. Cardinal Rigali’s successor Archbishop Charles Chaput wrote an article in the Neocon flag ship First Things, blaming the banning of school prayer on “secularizing activists” like Leo Pfeffer, who happened to be the lawyer for the American Jewish Committee in Schempp v. Abington School Board. Did his excellency know that Pfeffer was a Jew?
Bulldozing homes is a tactic that has been used several places for several purposes, but in Gaza at the moment it has one purpose. The day after Jared Kushner’s talk with Harvard students, Israeli media reported a delay in certain bulldozer shipments from the United States to Israel. The prominent website Ynet News went with the headline: “D9 bulldozer shipment stalled by U.S. embargo, leaving Israeli soldiers exposed.” According to the article, 134 bulldozers “ordered and paid for” by the Israeli military are currently “awaiting export approval from the U.S. State Department.”
By the mid-1970s we had to put away these childish things – the guns & holsters and chaps and lassos and cowboy hats. But being a cowboy turned out to be a life sentence, thenceforth, more by way of sound than vision. The deeply wounded among us replaced the guns and cowboy hats with guitars and cowboy songs. But all surrendered to the power of the radio and the record player, the latter to be taken over by cassette players which reigned supreme before the arrival of CD’s and MTV. And we had a whole decade of vinyl-engraved heart rending to process. About that thing called love. Boy, those yanks really know how to rub raw that excruciating teenage yearning for that excruciating teenage thing called love.
