Orienteering is an exciting outdoor adventure sport which involves navigating around a course using a detailed map and sometimes a compass. The aim is to navigate between a set of control points and decide the best route to complete the course in the quickest time. It does not matter how young, old or fit you are, and you can run, walk or jog round the course and progress at your own pace.
First session FREE - see here for details, and for more information, contact Adrian here.
Devon Orienteering Club seeks to encourage and promote the sport of orienteering in and around the County of Devon. Come along to an event and give it a try! All children and adults are welcome to attend Devon events and, in due course, to join the club.
Devon had several awards for the 25-26 South West League season: Ben for winning the Brown course (age handicap), and Ruth for being one of only 2 people who completed all 9 league events.
Well done to everyone who took part this year. Certainly very challenging at times and good to see peoples results improving as the weeks went by.
Congratulations to Eleanor Taylor for her win on Orange, Peter Hinton and Paul Ames who jointly won the Green and Will Hancock who took the spoils back over the Cornwall border on the Brown.
And well done to everyone else who had a go. Lots of smiles which has to be good.
