Governor Ma. Lucille L. Nava presided over the Joint Second Quarter Meeting of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) and the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) on June 30, 2026, at the Conference Room of the Office of the Governor, Kapitolyo Probinsiyal sang Guimaras, San Miguel, Jordan.
As Chairperson of both councils, Governor Nava led the discussion of updates and strategic actions aimed at sustaining peace, public safety, and the province’s campaign against illegal drugs.

The Provincial Government of Guimaras officially kicked off the observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) on July 1, 2026, with a motorcade and an opening program held at the Capitol Grounds, highlighting the province’s continuing commitment to disaster preparedness and resilience.
Organized by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), the activity gathered Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices, national government agencies, uniformed personnel, volunteers, and partner stakeholders. Participants simultaneously started the motorcade from their respective municipalities before converging at the Kapitolyo Probinsiyal for the opening ceremony.

Governor Ma. Lucille L. Nava, MD, met with Geographical Indications (GI) consultants Mr. Peter Damary and Mr. Patrick Belisario on June 25, 2026, at the Governor’s Office Conference Room, Kapitolyo Probinsyal sang Guimaras.
The meeting focused on the strategic direction and next steps for the Guimaras Mango Geographical Indication (GI), including the operationalization of the Guimaras Mango Development Council (GUIMADECO). Discussions covered strategic actions to strengthen GI governance, traceability, certification, quality assurance systems, and the provision of technical and institutional support for the Guimaras Mango GI.

The audit, conducted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), serves as the national benchmark for evaluating the effectiveness of local government units (LGUs) in implementing anti-illegal drug strategies. Guimaras’ high rating underscores the province’s success in harmonizing law enforcement, rehabilitation, and community-based prevention programs.
