Sølve Bø Hunvik

Senior Architect, Netcompany, Norway, Oslo

Welcome to my personal website. On this website you will get to know me and read about my projects. I grew up in a small town in Norway called Stryn, where I went to school until I moved to Stavanger in 2014 to go to a folk high school. I studied short films and had a really fun year there, which gave me the motivation to pursue my interest in IT afterwards.

After that year I started studying Informatics in Trondheim, and took a bachelor. I became very interested in web development, AI and VR. After my bachelor I started taking a MSc degree in Informatics, specializing in Software Engineering. The courses I took during my master's degree was more related to architecture and security, which made me really interested the full picture of a software development project and developing high quality products. I have also been a teaching assistant twice in both Web Technologies and in Software Engineering. After my 4th year I also had a summer internship in Accenture in Oslo. For my master thesis I designed, developed and user tested a VR application for giving students an introduction to deep learning and neural networks. I developed it in Unity for the Oculus Quest. Check out a 5-minute video about it here.

Currently I work as a IT Consultant with the position of Senior Architect in Netcompany in Oslo. I have worked on various project and have gotten a broad experience in web development, microservices, DevOps, development platforms (onprem and cloud). I have built a solid foundation in Java/Kotlin in Spring Boot applications, where I have worked with REST APIs, various SQL databases, asynchronous message queues and search engines. I have also worked built experience with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Helm, monitoring and logging tools. Also, I have worked a bit with Vue.js and React frontend applications.
