Nappturality has been online since 2002. Our website sits as testimony to all the women in the diaspora who proudly wear their highly textured hair naturally. We had a sisterhood of Black women who were focused on what mattered. Not likes and views. Not clicks and fame. We were not monetized. We supported each other when no one else would and have passed our self-love onto our children and grand children. The Nappturality Forums were a sanctuary. A safe place for all of us to converge, laugh, cry and help one another. As Social Media has all but destroyed Black online communities around the country, we also have had to close these doors however we remain as a testament to what was and what could have been. To all the women out there who helped spread knowledge, love and acceptance, I am forever in your debt. If in future I am able to reassemble the millions of posts from our forums, I will.
