I'm Scott Robbin, a generalist — part designer, part engineer, part musician, with an interest in open government and a love of traveling. I run Robbin & Co., helping teams build things that work well, feel right, and last.
Projects
3D print
Webcam Polarizer Clip
A small 3D-printed clip that holds a polarizing filter over a monitor's built-in camera, to cut down the screen reflected in your glasses on video calls.
macOS app
Timbre
A small floating window that sits beside Ableton Live. Describe a sound and it searches your own library, loads what it finds onto a track, and lets you flip through ideas until one fits.
Web app
Hindsight
An RSS reader that delivers yesterday's news today. Instead of chasing real-time updates, Hindsight encourages a simpler routine — browse what happened yesterday, read what interests you, and move on with your day. News reading as a pleasure, not a chore.
Web app
Letter Club
A platform for private group newsletters where members both send and receive. Create a club, set a pace — weekly, biweekly, or monthly — and everyone gets a digest on schedule. An ode to the slow web, where your inbox is yours to control.
Website
Dynamic Stock Video
The standard in stock footage. Founded in Chicago in 2003 to fill a very particular gap in the global footage market, DSV offers a rigorously curated library of clips of uncompromising specificity. Now streaming on Apple TV too.
Shop
Kiss Me, I'm Relish
A St. Patrick's Day t-shirt celebrating Chicago-style hot dog and its neon green condiment. A fun exploration of e-commerce and print-on-demand.
Open source
OpenGov MCP Server
An MCP server that connects government datasets directly to AI assistants, making it possible to ask plain-language questions about public data. No SQL queries, no CSV downloads.
Web app
SweepAround.Us
A Chicago street sweeping alert system that texts you before the sweeper comes so you can move your car. Built with open city data and a lot of parking tickets as motivation.
