Hi and welcome to the Rack families blog page. This is a place for us to tell you what has been going on lately in our lives. Take a look at our photo's and video's and feel free to make a comment. Enjoy! ~Doug, Crystal, Chloe and Derrick~
We had so much fun!!! We rode many rides, watched a couple shows (including Dora the Explorer), went up in the Eiffel Tower as well as ate some unhealthy foods. It was a great day for us, we spent it together, just the four of us!
On August 28, 2008 Chloe started school, she is now a Kindergartener at Morgan Elementry. In the morning she gets on the bus at daycare and in the afternoon she gets off the bus at Papaw's house and stays with him for a while. When she came home the first day she said "I love school!" We are so excited and we are looking forward to a great year for her!
We went to the Fairfield Aquatic Center today for Chloe’s end of the summer fieldtrip with her daycare. This was a chance for all the preschoolers to spend time together before they head off to different elementary schools for Kindergarten. Also it gave Chloe a chance to do something fun with her best friend Joelle. Joelle is moving which makes Chloe sad because they won’t be able to see each other as much. Chloe and Joelle have been in the same class at daycare since they were 18 months old.
Also on our trip we went shopping, ate in a restaurant with a carousel inside, went to the aquarium, visited Ober-Gatlinburg and rode the tram down the mountain and visited a Family Fun Center with go carts, bumper boats and other fun rides. As you will see below Derrick could not wait to ride the bumper boats.
The first week of August we went to Gatlinburg Tennessee for a family vacation. We stayed in a chalet high in the mountains with a great view and we made some new friends, two black bears. We took the boat with us and went out on Douglas Lake, the most beautiful and clear lake we have ever been on!!! This all in just the first couple days read on about more of our vacation.
Grandma and Grandpa were up from Florida for the week. We all had a great time going to the Reds game (yes they lost), getting family pictures taken, going to Brady Cook's B-Day party and going out on the boat!
Grandpa tried his luck at watersking....better luck next time!
Chloe's had her dance recital today at Perish Auditorium at Miami University's Hamilton campus, she was great! Her first dance was a ballet routine, the dance and song was called "Blow you a kiss." Her second dance was a tap routine, the dance and song was called "Baby bumble bee." Mommy, Daddy, Derrick, Mamaw, Papaw, Aunt Sherri, Jacquie, Nate and Molly were all there to cheer her on from the first row!
