As per Newton's second law, "An object's acceleration is the net result of any and all forces acting on the object." Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity of a object. Since velocity have speed, magnitude and direction, an object can accelerate in two ways, by the change of speed or by the change of direction or by the change of both. Acceleration is a vector quantity as it has both magnitude and direction. The SI derived unit of acceleration is metre per second squared, i.e (m s-2).
