EUPHORIA TEXT EDITOR

This text editor to provides an easy way to write and edit Euphoria programs and test them without leaving the editor.

It has the full range of editing functions such as cut, paste, find and undo and responds to both keyboard and mouse
and can be used for any text editing in place of Notepad.

When selecting the 'Run' menu item or using Ctrl/R, a prompt to save the program is given and then the program is

started using exw.exe for programs saved as .exw programs and eui.exe for those with .eui extensions. This brings up a dos

window and, in the case of .exw programs, the program in its own window. In the latter case it is possible to switch

between the text editor for further editing while running the program but only if the blank dos window is first deleted.

More than one program can be edited at a time and editing can be switched between them allowing cutting and pasting between

them by selecting the 'Window' menu.

The 'Help' menu displays either the Euphoria Refman and Library documents and a further document explaining additional

(mainly graphic functions) developed with this editor and packaged with it. There is also immediate help with exw

library functions and procedures by pointing to the line with the particular routine and pressing the right mouse button.

This facility only applies to exw routines.

A compiled version of the editor is in the bin folder and the source is in the euphed folder.

WINDOWS ENVIRONMENT

This editor makes use of the windows environment for Euphoria which I developed mainly for creating graphics applications

in which I was interested. This is encapsulated in the include files Winliba.ew and WinGraphicsA.ew and various other include

files in this package.

To take advantage of the help described above, the help.txt file in this folder should be copied to the Euphoria 'Doc' folder
and the windoc.txt file to the 'Bin' folder.

If problems are encountered with the editor or you are interested in setting up this environment (which is similar to win32lib.ew)

please e-mail me at ricran1@hotmail.com
