Welcome, U.S. Nonimmigrant Visa Applicants

You are at the official nonimmigrant (temporary) visa information and appointment website for the U.S. Embassy in Dominican Republic.

New Requirement for Visa Interviews

New Requirement for Visa Interviews: Starting May 1, 2025, all visa applicants must bring a DS-160 visa application form with a confirmation/barcode number (starting with AA) that matches the one used to make their appointment online. If you entered an incomplete, incorrect, or fictitious DS-160 confirmation number in the visa appointment system, you must update the DS-160 number at least three business days before your appointment date, otherwise you will need to book a new appointment to proceed with your visa application.

If you appear at your appointment and failed to update your DS-160 barcode to match the one in your appointment profile, you will not be able to attend your interview. Applicants whose application fees have expired (i.e., whose fees were paid more than 365 days ago) and did not update their barcode at least three business days before their appointment will be required to pay the application fee again.

Double-Check Your Information Immediately: Please double-check that the barcode number on your DS-160 form matches the one you used to schedule your appointment. If the DS-160 does not match, you must update the DS-160 number at least three business days before your interview appointment without canceling your existing appointment by following these steps:

  1. Log into your account at https://ais.usvisa-info.com
  2. In the “Applicant Summary Page,” click on the “settings” icon and select “Edit”
  3. Update the “DS-160 Number” field with the complete and correct confirmation number
  4. Click “Save”

If you are unable to change the barcode number in your profile, please contact our call center at Contact Us.

Submit Your DS-160 Visa Application at Least Three Business Days Before Your Interview: Please make sure to submit your DS-160 visa application form on https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/ at least three business days before your visa interview if you have not already submitted it. This will help us process your application as quickly as possible on the day of your interview.
