HOW TO APPLY: Brush On Block is housed in a self-dispensing brush applicator. The powder flows through the brush and onto your skin when applied. Edit: January 19, 2025 I have been using this powdered sunscreen for almost a month and it is almost time for a refill. I am curious how long it last for others. I have’t seen a mention of timeframe except someone mentioned it last a long time. I am not sure I can afford a refill every month to a month and half. But I also really do not want to go back to cream sunscreen. This powdered translucent(still has some color to it) leaves my face non-greasy and soft. So something that I recommend to the company increase how much powder you give the customer. A way my husband explained it to me is it would be no different than having a subscription. I do not have any subscriptions to anything so this would be like that for me. December 23, 2024 So far I love this sunscreen! This is the first time I have used powder sunscreen. It is easy to use and I have not had any mechanical issues with the tube. The powder comes out as it should. I ordered the translucent powder 30spf. I wish I would have order the 50 since I am using it for my face, but I am still happy with the product. I love not having a white film or greasy face like traditional sunscreens give. I also love how you can order refills, which I will definitely be doing.

    I don't know how good a powder sunscreen is on it's own, but I love them as an additional layer of sunscreen and a way to set makeup, if I'm wearing it. I've tried a couple of other mineral powder sunscreens and one of the problems has been getting it to dispense well. Well, this one has a good open/closed marker and when it is open, yep it dispenses, in fact a bit too much with my first vigorous shake, so now I know I can be a bit gentler with this. I wear it on top of a bb cream that has spf in it too.

    I also have a lot of a tattoos and if I forget to put sunscreen on my arms or hands, this is easy to carry around and not messy, so I sometimes brush some over my tattoos too. It's a small, think container, so probably won't last forever, but works well enough for my purposes. Oh, and I'm olive skinned/tanned looking (though that's just my normal color) and this isn't too light--it's nicely sheer.

    I'm a millennial and growing up all we had (at least to my knowledge) was liquid sunscreen. I hated everything about it: the texture, the smell, and the look of the white cast (but everyone seems to hate that). I wouldn't wear sunscreen unless someone else put it on me, and even then, I'd grump the whole time. Fortunately I'm olive skinned and rarely used to burn, but unfortunately I'm getting older and I apparently burn easier now. Of course I'd also like to protect against skin cancer and aging.

    I mentioned needing to buy sunscreen for the first time in my life (obviously my parents bought it when I was a kid and I just straight up never bought any until now because I hated it and wouldn't wear it) to my sister who is so white she'll burn just at the mention of sun. She had the brilliant idea of using a makeup setting powder or powdered foundation with SPF and that's how I came across Colorescience's powdered sunscreen, but balked at the price. When looking for alternatives, I came across this which, in addition to being more affordable, has the added benefits of being translucent, refillable, and FSA eligible.

    This sunscreen does it for me in every way I can think of. The texture didn't bother me in the slightest. In fact, it feels kinda nice to run the brush over my skin. My super sniffer detects absolutely no smell at all, which I highly prefer even over "pleasant" smells. No white cast. It doesn't bother my eczema/sensitive skin even though it doesn't have the NEA seal (highly recommend, btw). It also doesn't bother my asthma like my sister warned against with spray sunscreens. I figured there's no way this would be water resistant but lo and behold, it's got that covered, too. I think the packaging is even elegant: great design and colors...not that that really matters.

    Expiration dates: don't forget about them like I did. I originally ordered the single with two eco refills for the best price per volume, but the expiration date was 23 months out. There's no way I'd use it all by then. So then I replaced it with just the single, which had an expiration date 30 months out. Maybe the singles with two eco refills are less popular so they sit around for longer, accounting for the sooner expiration date. Something to keep in mind.

I like using this for touch ups when I'm wearing makeup and can't reapply a regular cream SPF. I like the travel size although there have been times powder does leak out. I have yet to use this and see how it works with a camera flash.

    Brush that it comes with works well but is not too fluffy enough to spread product evenly. I bought a $6 ELF brush so that I can dip out some powder and use that brush to spread it evenly around my face and neck.

    Wash this off as you would regular makeup- with wipes, but preferably an oil cleanser. It is water resistent so oil helps break it down easier at the end of the day. I've noticed no skin reactions. There's no smell either.

    This is a very handy product to throw in your handbag and lasts a long time. Easy to use, just barely twist it and powder comes out. Only reason for deducting one star is the powder gets a bit caked on the skin so just light touches only.

    Goes on easily but I am not sure of how well it covers. I use an oil free moisturizer with sunblock as a base and this product over top. It blends in and takes away any shine or greasy appearance left by the moisturizer. Highly recommended.

    THIS STUFF IS ABSOLUTELY GREAT !

    To put you in the picture, I spent all of my childhood heavily coated in UVISTAT cream and most of my adult life hiding in the shadows... darting from shady nook to shady nook, tree to tree, sun parasol to sun parasol, crossing the street to the shady side, anything to try to avoid the dreaded rays of the demon sun. As you might have gathered I'm fair skinned, VERY fair skinned and for years I have burned at the very mention of UV. I can transition from pale palid white to third degree red in a matter of about 15-20 mins exposure, followed the same evening by the shakes, nausea, headaches etc - YUP the sun doesn't like me at all... SO.... what's so special about this apparently "expensive" product ? Well in my ongoing quest to step outdoors I have tried just about every sun protection product on the market from creams to "milks" to clear "invisible" sprays to sticks, and although some of them have worked sort of, I have either ended up looking like a highly aromatic glistening shiny painted version of myself (not a good look for the pub), or like a whitewashed ghost. Most of these gems are highly perfumed (they stink), and pretty much all of them have permanently turned the collars of every good summer shirt or T-shirt a mucky yellow which doesn't come out in the wash - ever. So imagine my surprise when I tried this stuff. A DRY POWDER with no smell, that is virtually invisible, takes literally seconds to apply with a brush and STOPS ME BURNING ALL DAY with one application. Initially when it arrived through the mail I thought, tiny tiny amount in here won't last more than a day or two, but then discovered that with daily use one refill lasts me over 2 months - AMAZING ! The secret ? if you can see it on your skin, then you are applying TOO MUCH. You WILL see a little puff of dust as you apply, but then it should disappear. Job Done! PROTECTION ? It's as good if not better than any creams I've used before, and I can go about my business forgetting its even there. To my amazement for the first time in my life I have a "tan" developing, maybe not a golden baked bronze by most peoples standard but a real tan nevertheless. Quite an achievement for a 56 year old who had given up on that every happening in this lifetime. For the very first time in my life I can sit out in the strong sun and relax, not clock watching or worrying about the imminent onset of the dreaded lobster look and pain that usually follows.

    Once you master how to prime the brush, this stuff is a doddle to use and it JUST WORKS ! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

    a wearable high quality sunscreen, on my dry skin. I am using this on my face, as an everyday suncreen (I can get hyper pigmentation) and I like the coverage, and fact I can put foundation or concealer over it if necessary. It is very opaque and white at first glance, as all zinc/mineral sunscreens are, it leaves just a slight hint of white - almost like a primer - I have very pale skin anyway, so this is not a problem, especially if wearing foundation over it, as I generally do. I was worried about it being shiny, which it isnt at all. So far I have been out in the sun a lot of times, and it seems to have worked! - no burning and the pigmentation has reduced
