I started out with a cheaper brand and it was a very flimsy unit This one is not flimsy at all. Works great and feels great. I also like the removable ball head on it. The ball head is all metal and swivels smoothly. The speed shoe that you can mount on to your camera is very handy. I use it for my field recorder as well. Strong but flexible legs that you can contort to basically any shape. I find the indicator markings on the ball head base quite useful If I have the camera shooting a scene and then change scenes. I can set it back to the exact markings without worrying about resetting everything all over again. Everything seems solid although I've read some of the reviews that in time legs have trouble. Have not seen that yet but have only had it for 6 mos.. Stil extremely solid. So far I'm very happy with the Gorilla pod

Very pleased with this purchase because the price was right! I have been wanting a smaller/lightweight tripod for about a year and a half so I finally decided to make the purchase. I am so glad I gave this a try because it weighs next to nothing but can be wrapped around objects/bent in all sorts of ways. It really is a treat using this product but it can be difficult to straighten out the legs after bending them - this isn't a negative though because otherwise your camera would just fall over. The tension on the legs is good and hopefully, it lasts over time. No issues with my Sony A7iii and 24-105 (note if you are using this combo be conscious of how you position the legs (stance, direction, etc.) as this combo is a little front heavy, otherwise it may tip due to user error. Happy with this purchase

Great Gorillapod, and can't believe it took me so long. Very happy with the size and stability, and it works well with my Sony A7Riii, GoPro Hero 8, and iPhone. The ballhead is great, and definitely increases the ease of use. So glad I bought this, and didn't wait for the 5K.

Super resistente e leggero, ottimo per essere portato in giro.
Con il gorillapod si aprono un'infinità di possibilità parlando di inquadrature, siccome non è solo un treppiede che permette di "alzare" o "abbassare" un'inquadratura, ma è proprio un modo di appendere il telefono/ macchinetta dappertutto, per esempio pali, rami, superfici piane o irregolari e tanto altro (come per esempio in foto).
PRO:
- resistenza e stabilità: anche con attrezzatura pesante il gorillapod resta aggrappato alle superfici e ai pali. Piegando le gambe le potete appoggiare il treppiede in maniera ancora più stabile (se per esempio c'è vento).
- qualità costruttiva: i materiali sono fatti per durare, al tatto si sente che è stato costruito per durare e per essere usato tanto.
- peso: molto leggero, qualità che permette di essere trasportato a lungo senza stancarsi.
- livella: sulla testa c'è una livella che permette di raddrizzare l'inquadratura.
- testa: anche la testa può essere ruotata in varie direzioni. C'è una vite per fissare la testa ma che è molto resistente e non cede anche con pesi più alti. C'è anche un attacco di tipo 1/4" -20.
CONTRO:
l'unico contro che ho riscontrato per adesso è il fatto che ri-allineare tutte le palline delle gambe non è velocissimo.
Conclusioni:
Utilizzare il gorillapod cambia veramente le prospettive.
Se per esempio sei in palestra e ti stai registrando mentre ti alleni, puoi appendere il telefono (o fotocamera...) su qualche rack o barra per un'inquadratura migliore, invece che "appoggiarlo" a terra o ad altezza uomo.
Se sei in un bosco magari su qualche ramo.
Se sei su un marciapiede puoi "aggrapparlo" su un palo.
Ormai non ci sono più scuse per fare inquadrature noiose e standard!
