Worth Purchasing... As an E-Book
Reviewed in the United States on December 17, 2023I got the physical copy of this book in anticipation of traveling to Tokyo with a family member that uses a wheelchair. It was incredibly helpful, but is really meant to be viewed electronically. Also, some of the links to apps or additional references were defunct. Despite that, the book was absolutely worth it and left me feeling much more prepared to help my family member on the trip.

Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2017This book was an indispensable guide for us as a family traveling to Japan for the first time with a wheelchair user. We felt prepared to use the metro, JR trains and bullet train and were prepared for what accessible restaurant options might be. It was a great trip for us and this book put us at ease. Josh was also kind enough to correspond with us through email to help us ahead of our trip.

M. Peckitt5 out of 5 starsNecessary reading for the traveller to Japan who has a disability
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 23, 2017Accessible Japan’s Tokyo fills a much needed gap for travellers with disabilities going to visit Tokyo. Offering advice on topics such as how to get from the airport to the hotel, and how to travel around Japan, it provides much needed advice on how make your trip to Tokyo as pleasant as possible if you are a wheelchair user. Also as a resident of the Kansai area (Kobe, Kyoto, Osaka) who also has a physical disability, I can stipulate that whilst the tourist attractions are obviously different, Josh Grisdale’s advice about travel is certainly applicable to the Kansai area as well, so I recommend this book if you were also visiting the Kansai area.
