NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
For the first time, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson opens up about his amazing comeback—from tragic personal loss to thriving businessman and cable’s highest-paid executive—in this unique self-help guide, his first since his blockbuster New York Times bestseller The 50th Law.
In his early twenties Curtis Jackson, known as 50 Cent rose to the heights of fame and power in the cutthroat music business. A decade ago the multi-platinum selling rap artist decided to pivot. His ability to adapt to change was demonstrated when he became the executive producer and star of Power, a high-octane, gripping crime drama centered around a drug kingpin’s family. The series quickly became “appointment” television, leading to Jackson inking a four-year, $150 million contract with the Starz network—the most lucrative deal in premium cable history.
Now, in his most personal book, Jackson shakes up the self-help category with this unflinching guide to entrepreneurship, offering unique, cutting-edge lessons and hard-earned advice on embracing change. Where The 50th Law tells readers “fear nothing and you shall succeed,” Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter builds on this message, combining it with Jackson’s street smarts and hard-learned corporate savvy to help readers successfully achieve their own comeback and learn to flow with the changes that disrupt their own lives.
How did he orchestrate one of the greatest comebacks in entertainment history?
- Heart of a Hustler: Learn why passion is the fuel that drives every success story and how to keep your motor running, whether you’re on the streets or in the boardroom.
- Street Smarts, Corporate Savvy: Discover how the lessons learned from the corner can be applied in corporate America to outmaneuver the competition and build a powerful, loyal team.
- Evolve or Die: Jackson shares why his ability to pivot―from music to television―is the key to long-term relevance and how to adapt when the world changes around you.
- The Power of Perception: Master the art of shaping your own narrative, projecting the confidence that attracts opportunity, and making the world see you the way you want to be seen.

About the authors

Curtis James Jackson III (born July 6, 1975), better known by his stage name 50 Cent, is an American rapper, actor, entrepreneur, investor, record, film, and television producer. Born in the South Jamaica neighborhood of the borough of Queens, Jackson began selling drugs at age twelve during the 1980s crack epidemic. Although he left drug-dealing to pursue a musical career, he was struck by nine bullets in a 2000 shooting. After Jackson released the compilation album Guess Who's Back? in 2002, he was discovered by Eminem and signed by Shady Records, Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records.
With the aid of Eminem and Dr. Dre (who produced his first major-label album, Get Rich or Die Tryin'), Jackson became one of the world's best selling rappers and rose to prominence with East Coast hip hop group G-Unit (which he leads de facto). In 2003 he founded G-Unit Records, signing his G-Unit associates Young Buck, Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo. Jackson had similar commercial and critical success with his second album, The Massacre, which was released in 2005. He released his fifth studio album, Animal Ambition, in 2014 and is working on his sixth studio album: Street King Immortal, scheduled for release in 2016.
During his career Jackson has sold over 30 million albums worldwide and won several awards, including a Grammy Award, thirteen Billboard Music Awards, six World Music Awards, three American Music Awards and four BET Awards. He has pursued an acting career, appearing in the semi-autobiographical film Get Rich or Die Tryin' (2005), the Iraq War film Home of the Brave (2006) and Righteous Kill (2008). 50 Cent was ranked the sixth-best artist of the 2000s, the third-best rapper (behind Eminem and Nelly), and Get Rich or Die Tryin' and The Massacre were ranked the 12th and 37th best albums of the decade by Billboard.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 12, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI’m happily surprised that I picked up more data to increase my knowledge than expected, I;m glad I followed my creative intuition to take a chance in purchasing Hustle Harder Hustle Smarter even with my logical awareness that I am outside the intended target audience demographic. I’m previously familiar with some of his music because around 2003/2004 when I was living in California (through the navy) some of his songs were very popular on some of the radio stations and it was pretty easy to also listen to some of his music videos online. This kindlebook Hustle Harder Hustle Smarter by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is parts mentorship-like and parts autobiography. The author goes into explain some of the multiple reasons why his mother’s death when he was so young indirectly influenced his boldness and courage. He is also candid about both the good and far from easy dynamics of his family life which that disclosure in of itself makes things relatable, a persuasive case is built on why increased clarity is extremely essential when going after what one wants, the author explains why a person must do what they can to keep their momentum even when having to navigate around certain expected andor unexpected challenges, the author explains some of the multiple reasons why even many people working in more prestigious career fields andor at the tope of their career fields are far from immune to the peaks and valleys (stockbroker, schoolteacher, musician etc), details are given in how the author came to trust his instincts, multiple supporting details are woven in why knowing one’s value including some of the ways he helped advise one of his friends towards regaining their self confidence in the knowing one’s value realm, persuasive examples are given on how a person can train themselves to metaphorically/intuitively see the writing on the wall with multiple analogies given (example of movie streaming given), what the author symbolizes in connection with expanding your mind via your circle, the author’s candid acknowledgement of why he attracted many successful women from multiple walks of life (lawyers, doctors, actresses, entrepreneurs etc) and how this is of interest to readers of various walks of life, an entertaining chapter pertaining to friends and more.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 25, 2025Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI admire 50 cent for his music but, after reading this, I realize what a successful, savvy businessman he is. It is worth reading-and to give to your kids-you also get a sense of his work ethic. It is especially remarkable that he is as successful as he is given that he came from poverty. I'm going to check to see if he has written other books to purchase. If not, I hope he does write another.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 18, 2025Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI didn’t expect to take so many notes while reading this, but Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter is more than a celebrity memoir. It’s like a life playbook from someone who really lived through it all. Whether you’re trying to start a business, get your mind right, or just want a deeper look at the man behind the music and Power, this book hits. Definitely worth reading, especially if you’re working on leveling up your life.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 18, 2020Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseCurtis Jackson used tragedy, life's obstacles, observations, and his heart to write this book.
This self help book give readers insight into Jackson childhood memories, relationships, and how he propel his many successful business ventures.
Similar language usage of the "principles of Law Attraction" was used as a guide to better understand the solutions that he offered as a "new way of thinking".
Striking familiarity in the individual who is seeking sustainability and strategic methods to relate in their personal life.
Some of the guidance he wrote about was, "evolve or die, don't be afraid to compete, and avoid the entitlement trap...", just to name a few of the principles he offered.
Accountability is one of the lessons that he learned and teaches readers the steps to apply it to their everyday life.
Providing life examples of his business and friends relationship taught him that protecting his energy aura was important to his health and money.
My favorite chapter was called, "The Entitlement Trap". Jackson presented this question, "Are they making a deposit?" This is the key for the individual reflecting on the cons and pros in their life. While, trying to figure out what would be their next course of action.
Eliminating negative people who are only making withdrawals in your life are considered 'energy vampires'. Their only reasons for being around you is for their own selfish purpose. Once they have gotten what they needed from you. Than you no longer serve a purpose for them.
Letting go is a lesson that is hard to learn but is a must.
Hustle Harder- Hustle Smarter sets the tone for the individuals who have an intent but is searching for that 'engine starter'. Curtis not only provides examples with thought out opinions but he pulls it all together to pose several objectives for the reader. Specifically, "...achieve your goals with purpose and confidence."
