I have went back & forth on whether or not I really needed to dish out the money for this Ring Doorbell 4, I would look up reviews and do research then I would just be like eh it’s fine I don’t need it that bad especially being on a tighter budget. Well income tax time hit and I seen this one was $60 off the original price & so I went for it & OMG I’m sooooo glad I did! It’s Amazing, I absolutely Love being able to see who is at my front door or even close to my porch I didn’t screw mount mine because I live in Townhouse Apartments and I’m sure that is a no no lol so I got a no screw door mount for it and it’s perfect for apartment living, the camera quality is really nice, it’s very fast at alerting me if someone is on or near my porch or door, it look very sleek and appealing, it came with a Ring Sticker so I got a magnet and stuck the sticker to the magnet and since my door is metal it just sticks magnetically I can remove it when I need so it’s not permanent so that’s an idea for you, but overall if your going back and forth like I was just get it and I promise you won’t be disappointed it’s awesome!! The setup was extremely fast and easy using the Ring app, it connected to my Wi-Fi seamlessly with no problems I have spectrum not sure if it matters, the app loads up the camera very fast, the sound quality is great, the lights on the ring are nice and bright when they light up, overall I highly recommend this Ring Doorbell to anyone thinking of getting one, I’m also going to buy a second one for my back door, also the battery seems to last really well I’ve had it a few days it’s only went down by 2% from 100% to 98% but I have also been fidgeting with it a lot moving it around until I got the best spot and obsessively watching the camera lol so I’m sure the batter would still be at 100% if I would just be normal and stop watching it all day! I did charge the battery for about 10 hours when I very first got it just to make sure it was full charge before using it! I will buy a second battery just to always have a charged ready to go battery when the other one needs charged up :) Thanks for ready my review I hope you enjoy your new Ring Doorbell just as much as I do

    Absolutely love this ring doorbell. The pre roll feature is great because you can see a little bit before the camera starts it’s “true” recording. Yes, the pre-roll is blurry, but then it turns to full HD once the true recording begins.

    Motion Zones: You can create motion zones that tell the camera to only record in the areas that you want it to. This is helpful for a busy road or sidewalk where you don’t want to be notified each time.

    Battery: On normal settings, the battery lasted about 2 months in the middle of summer. To me it’s not the end of the world and charging the battery is easy. Yes, it takes a long time to charge (about 6 hours), but I’ll do this during a slow afternoon while sitting at home. I haven’t had an issue with it running out too quickly at all.

    Live talk/video: This feature is great because you can look “live” at your camera at any time and communicate with anyone at your door.

    Subscription: for $4 a month, it’s worth it.

    I highly recommend making the investment into this camera. Easy installation, good battery life, and peace of mind.

    I have no clue what DUDEMAN is talking about just takes common sense... drill holes to mount if you have a brick house. just pull the star bit out of blue handle and you'll see on the other side you will have a Philips screwdriver to screw into softer wood frames homes or on door frame. But camera is amazing the pre-roll is great it pre-rolls at 720p then once pre-roll is over its 1080p for the rest of the recording. Has HDR mode for daytime so the sun is more distinct instead of a blurring bright light reflecting and making it hard to see like some older ring doorbell products. The ring 4 also has quick replies and the visitors or unwanted visitors can leave voice-mail, if you like to do that you will have to set that up and you can turn the function on or off. It does come with a rechargeable battery that will need some charging when you receive product. I do recommend spending a extra $30 for another battery as a back up so you can rotate battery's when one drains completly. It does come with a side angle mount if you like but it is not required for installation. Hope this review helps!

    The only con I have to complain about which isn't a big deal just a small inconvenience. But it is that if your coming from let's say the ring 1 or ring 2 and ring 3 the mount holes are not the same so be prepared to move it to a slightly different spot then your old ring.

    I ordered the Ring with the base Echo unit. I had to download a Ring app, and Alexa app to get them to function. There are lots of little features and nuances. I was unaware of a "sidewalk" feature that "borrows" some of your bandwith for your neighborhood. Not a fan of that feature, but if you disable it, the devices seem to cease functionality. The devices paired fairly easily to one another. I did have to install a new wireless router near my outside wall to get signal to the ring. The internal wireless reception of the doorbell seems poor. The devices captures motion very well during the day. I was getting cats and little animals until I adjusted my zones and sensitivity. The motion detection at night is lacking, its takes a while for it to catch motion and sometimes misses people walking right in front of it. The night vision is actually VERY good, I just wish it was able to capture motion like it does during the day time. Overall setup was somewhat cumbersome to configure. The camera and sound work great, once you get the setup done and tie everything together, I was very pleased with the camera, it has a HUGE area of viewing, I was surprised at how much it did see. The viewing area and quality are excellent. Basically, the hardware is solid and the software is very good. The Ring is able to display my doorbell on my Echo device automatically, BUT it will not automatically show motion detection. This is a feature they hopefully will update in a future software/firmware updates. Overall though, I can recommend.

    This is a good ring / camera kit. Resolution is acceptable , and 30 days subscription free is fine but once subscription free period ends it’s useless unless you pay and subscribe. Save your money and find other options that offer more options / better resolution and no subscription. I sold this after the 30 day period and did my more research and night something better. The Ring models are good for people who have limited IT skills and have money to subscribe to “another” service.

    This doorbell works well, and has good hardware design, but could have been easier to set up in terms of connecting to my wi-fi network, and the recommended upload speed (on the product's internet site) was not strong enough to provide a reliable connection (but changes to my home wi-fi mean I have more than triple the recommended upload speed at the doorbell location now, and it works well). While I got a Chime Pro to assist with the connection, it didn't provide any better connection strength (despite being in a better and somewhat closer location) than my modem/router, although that will vary based on the strength of signal coming from your modem/router.

    The phone app is good, the battery life also good (about 2 weeks, with a fair bit of motion detection and recording), the process of replacing the battery straightforward, and the information available via the app and the recordings of the videos via the Protect Plan excellent. The design and physical installation were both good, and the range of faceplates met our needs in terms of blending in with the complex. It's very handy to be able to communicate with someone who arrives at the door when I'm not in, and the customisable motion zones and pre-roll features are noticeably useful (particularly the customisable motion zones, as the doorbell faces a busy street, so being able to cover the letterbox but not the road avoids a lot of car recordings).

    Other than the upload speed/connection issues, other things that needed resolving during set-up (in case it helps anyone who bumps into similar):

    - For whatever reason, the Chime Pro (2nd edition) doesn’t work with (at least my) ‘combined’ 2.4GHz and 5GHz wi-fi network – I needed to split it into two separate networks for it to hook up. When it was combined, it repeatedly (and incorrectly) gave the error that the password was incorrect (and the password was checked carefully, and was fine, and worked once the networks had been split).

    - On a combined 2.4GHz and 5GHz wi-fi network, the Ring 4 video doorbell for some reason decided that it wanted to connect to the 5GHz signal (RSSIs from 72 to 78) rather than the 2.4GHz signal (RSSIs of 55-65, even without the Chime Pro).

    Working around this was a bit fiddly (made moreso by some issues on my ISP's end - but that's not a doorbell issue), but once everything was set up, it works very well, and is a great product.

    Amazing product saves a lot of time and I feel a lot more secure with my packages. The plus points are that when they ring the bell the sound goes off at the bell and also ur phone does a door bell notification sound if you have enabled it in the app so u get the ring no matter where u are home or not. If u don’t want to give anyone else access simply Combine it with the chime and u can make sure anyone hears the bell even if they are in the top floor and finally the battery life is beautiful. It does take about 6 hours to fully charge but after just one charge the battery is still at 75% after 10 days. Don’t need to stress about buying an extra battery.
