These work great! FRAGILE! that means if you drop the bottle in the opening it will break. My son broke one that way, even after it had been soaking.

Two were damaged when they arrived. One completely shattered in the box and the one next to it had a crack on the neck. I buried it gently but the neck gave way when I set a bottle on it. But still it continues to do what it was designed to do. Other than that, the remaining 10 have been great! With temps being at or above 100F they definitely help keep our plants and garden alive and thriving. With current temps I have to refill normal wine bottles every other day. I get an extra day or two with larger bottles. The spikes for larger ones need to be placed deeper in the soil for better support. Overall, I’m happy with them. If I could give half a star due to the damaged ones I would.

These are so needed in the hot climates outside. I love that I can put these in my veggie and fruit tree gardens and not need to water every day. They go in the ground and provide water to the roots of my plants. I have found that plastic San Pelegrino bottles fit perfectly and more or less blend with the color of the leaves of the plants. They’re a good value and great quality. I also use these for all my indoor plants too so that I’m not constantly watering them. These are very easy to use, soak or get them wet first and then make a hole in the dirt. Place the terra cotta spikes OVER AND ONTO the opening of your FILLED water bottle and then turn them back the right way as you place them into the hole you made. I recommend making a hole FIRST before trying to push them into the dirt…that way you won’t break them and possibly cut your hands.

I bought to use for very large houseplants while on vacation, practiced 1st. These are a low tech solution. If not too warm in house maybe good for about 3 weeks. Use light/clear wine bottles to monitor easily. Good directions: soak them first, dig into soil clear up to the neck. Used 2 in 7’ tall very big plants. Difficult to dig through houseplant roots, they seem to vary somewhat in how much water, messy to refill, 2 broke on refilling.

Imperfect but met my needs for 3 weeks.

I have ordered several sets of these! They make the love of having plants and gardening so much easier. They are very easy to install in planting beds or indoor plants. They are about the size of your palm and will hold several different size bottles. Our favorite is wine bottles. We fill bottles once a week for healthy plants. It’s a great value for your money! They are light and smaller bottles are great for houseplants. These are a must buy if you are a plant lover.

UPDATE::::: 3 MORE HAVE NOW BROKEN! SO DOWN TO 6. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BUYING THESE! THEY JUST BREAK. 2 MONTHS THESE 3 HAVE LASTED. I NOTICED THE WATER DRAINING VERY FAST. THEY DEVELOPED CRACKS ON THE SEAMS. THEN THE TOP EDGE JUST BREAKS OFF. VERY DISAPPOINTED! AT THIS POINT, JUST A WASTE OF MONEY.

Love the size, the shape. They accept bottles that are a little bigger than a beer bottle. Vodka bottle. 750ml. But , while adding water to the bottles and replacing them, 3 have broken. They are thinner than I had expected. When 3 break just putting the bottles back in, there must have been tiny cracks I didnt see upon arrival. So, out of 12, only 9 left. Not a good ratio. And now they have not even been available to purchase again. So, just a bit thinner than expected and easier to break than expected.

These little things are probably the only reason my plants are still alive. Great for the busy (or forgetful) gardener who doesn't always get to watering. They are a bit fragile, so be gentle pushing them down into the soil. I broke one or two because I wasn't careful enough placing them in the dirt.

These are extremely fragile. One of them broke while I was trying to put a bottle into it. I found the other two broken in the planters after a thunderstorm moved through. They also don't release much water into the ground. The photo with the bottle in the planter was filled 16 days ago. Based on the description, I expected to have to refill the water bottles every week.
