I waited a long time to write this review to see how these dishes performed. They are an excellent weight, substantial but not ridiculously heavy. They do not get crazy hot in the microwave. I did sand the unglazed terracotta bottoms when I received them. They are too rough to safely stack on each other IMO. But it only took a few minutes of passing the rough ones over some sandpaper and they were smooth. The glaze is beautiful, does not chip or peel and looks expensive. Sizes of each dish are just right. I'm very glad I got them.

LOVE this dish set. The color and quality is as expected. Only downside was that out of the 3 sets I purchased, 1 dish was broken (pictured) not sure how, because they were packed really nicely. Regardless, still worth the buy.

I saw the Amazon warning that these dishes were frequently returned, but saw nothing in the reviews to indicate why. These plates looks so beautiful in the description photos that I decided to buy them anyway. Now, I understand why they are returned. The description pictures look nothing like what I received. I could understand if there were color variations, but the ones I received had a totally different pattern. They had spots all over then that made them look strangely diseased. I originally chose them because they didn't have a distracting pattern unlike the ones I actually received. Interestingly, both types of bowls looked like the advertisement and are quite beautiful.
It was only both sizes of the plates that had the weird spotting pattern. To be fair, they seemed to be made really well and the sizes were fantastic. It was really only the aesthetic of the plates that was disturbing. Unfortunately, I will be adding to the statistic of people who return these dishes.
