    God is described a with many amazing descriptions and characterizations in scripture but it appears to me that Father, Heavenly Father, is his ultimate identity. This reality is profound and foundational. Needed not just for churchgoers and the ones with good dads, but especially those far from God. Those who don’t know their Heavenly Father loves them.     When you think of God, how do you imagine him? None of our parents were perfect. I never had a very close relationship with my father. I felt like he never really knew me. As a teenager, when I came to know Christ as my Savior, I remember thinking, "Now, I have a father!"

    I am perfectionist. Thereby, I tend to see God as a perfectionist in the way He views me. As if, nothing I do is good enough. I just can't get it right. I know the truth. Our God loves me/us unconditionally. His love is full of grace. I don't have to get it right. I don't have to be perfect. I don't have to earn his love. He loves me because that's who he is. It is his character. God is love. But because it is a life pattern for me, I tend to fall back into viewing God through my perfectionism.

    This book reinforced a healthy view of God as my perfect Father. I am his beloved daughter. He fully knows me and fully loves me!
