I recently installed the Govee Smart Car Interior LED Lights, and they completely changed the look and feel of my car. Installation was surprisingly simple—everything plugged into the car adapter and the adhesive strips held the lights securely under the dash and seats.

One of the best features is the Govee app control. It lets you choose from a wide variety of colors and lighting modes, and you can even create your own custom color combinations. The music mode is especially fun—the lights react to the beat of the music, which makes night drives much more enjoyable.

The brightness is adjustable and strong enough to look vibrant without being distracting while driving. I also appreciate that the lights feel well-made and the wires are long enough to route cleanly around the interior.

For the money this is a very nice kit. Looks good and the multiple color changing options is a nice touch. The only cheap feeling part was the cigarette lighter plug. I cut it off and soldered wiring to it then tapped directly into the fuse block with keyed on power. Lights come on now as soon as The key is turned on. Really happy and can’t wait to see how they look at night.

Bought these for my 2014 Chrysler 300c. Love them really add a nice vibe to the car. They are Awsome because the app allows you to lower the brightness So not distracting while driving. They are really bright and they work really good it goes exactly to the beat of the music it’s actually really phenomenal at the price point the only reason I give these a four star instead of a 5 is because it’s a pain in the butt to install depending on your vehicle if your car has carpeting all throughout the lower part of it where the lights go it really doesn’t mix the adhesive does not stick to any plastic or carpet only metal actually the airbag Storage compartment underneath the driver side – what is metal so the adhesive stuck to it the rest of them had to be screwed in to the carpet and to get the tiny little screws through the Hole in the light it’s really a pain in tight spaces but overall it’s pretty easy to install if you know what you’re doing. Also I’m not sure what to do with the one that is sticking to the metal because the adhesive is starting to come off and you can’t really screw through metal in there is no carpet in the area so might have to figure out something but overall it is very nice and the adhesive is still holding on that one so when you do get this I suggest screwing it in if you have an option. Also make sure to hide the wires inside the panels as well as you can they just left right into the corners of the plastic on the side of my car door very easily so that was really convenient but sometimes they tend to pop out every now and then and when you get in the car you forget about it and you go to press the gas and you pull the wire with your foot then you yank the light off of the top then you have to reinstall but I tried to watch for it as much as I can different cars are different set up so they might be better in those web for Chrysler vehicles or Dodge or jeep or anything like that Mopar I know for sure that that will happen overall I do suggest that this is a very good product and I would invest in it for the price point.!

Hooks up in a snap. Took 15-20 minutes to install. Used in a 2026 Honda Civic. Tucked wires under baseboards and in the seems of the car. App works. No complaints. Bought some E6000 glue, assuming the adhesive that it comes with may fail during hotter months. Automatically turns on when the car turns on.

I love the Govee app and the quality and ease of use and installation of this product is great. I pulled back some panels in the car to hide wiring but you don’t need to.

Overall I’d say the lights are great, my only critique is the adhesive doesn’t do much. I just went ahead and used the zip ties (probably meant for the wiring). But as long is it doesn’t twist out of place it’s great.

Update 1/10/21:

My "over one year" update.

Now that I've had them over a year, I can add to my review. First, the second strip is starting to come off, so I'll have to screw that one on later. I don't like having to dig into the dash, but it's not that bad. I have noticed with the lights that they do not sync to music. It looks like a false sync, and I found this out by simply starting the truck, turning them on, and having no sound going. They appear to have a pattern that alternates, but I noticed that the continues the same random pattern no matter what kind of music is playing. One color will be short, one will be long, and the rest will be in between, then another color is the short one, the long one, etc.

I've had thumping EDM music, slow classical, and all sorts playing, and the pattern is the same. Shame, I wanted something that really did sync with the music and was obvious.

Original Review:

I just installed these a week ago, so I can't give 5 stars until I can judge their longevity, but right now, they are working great. I put them in my truck, which has no real back seat to speak of, so they are doubled up in the front of my cab. I have one strip on each side pointing at the floor and one strip running up the bottom sides of the dashboard, illuminating the rest of the floor, the sides of the doors, and some of the seat edge.

They are nice and bright for what they are. The colors are pleasant, and while you can switch colors manually with the little control box, I installed the app to connect to them and change it to a rainbow effect that alternates with music. Once set, though, it seems to keep the setting even when the truck is turned off, so it's not like you need to keep the app on your phone if you're not going to use it. I'm not sure if changing out the battery of the truck will set it back to default or not, though. I'll find out when I change the battery later on.

So far, the adhesion is working fine. I even had to remove one strip to move it, and I figured that was going to be it for that strip, but I tried it and it's still hanging on to its new position. They include tiny nails and zip ties if you'd rather go that way, but the strips are working fine right now.

The wires seem plenty long enough to allow you to route them nicely. I can't speak for how well they reach the back seat, as like I said, mine are both up front. They look long enough, and I did toy with putting them back there somewhere, but there's just no room.

The lights do "dance" with the music as well as can be expected, and I can see them during the day, but mostly only use them at night. They are bright enough that if you were standing outside the truck, you could see a faint glow on the headrests. I know because I did exactly that because I wondered how much of the cab was being illuminated. Aim both towards the floor and you may not have that happen. Don't know.

If they last, I'll try to update the review. If not, I'll try doing the same.

These lights lasted me forever I sold my car recently and on of the reasons they wanted it was the lights easy installation and lasted me years.

These lights worked really well for my 2012 Honda accord sedan. I highly recommend to get super glue. The sticky stuff that’s on the lights already don’t stick very well.

Pros:

- Very easy install, takes like 2 hours if you wanna cord manage and everything.

- Very bright, can even see the lights pretty well in the day time which I did not expect at all.

- Music function works AMAZINGLY well, only product I have seen that uses a motion sensor in the control box to get the bass instead of whatever it is other companies do.

- App works well once connected

- Very quality adhesive, once its on there it is NOT coming off so make sure you know where you want it.

- Controller has just exactly what you need and nothing more, I like the simplicity of it. Also means time spent in the app is minimal, app only used for when you wanna set specific colors or effects and it seems can be saved so that you can use the controller to activate them instead of going into the app.

- Value is amazing here, $30 for a pretty quality product.

- Instructions where very helpful

- Neatly packaged

- Included zip ties for cable management which was very helpful.

Cons:

- App seems like just one big advert for their other products, and is also not very intuitive.

- A lot of cables, not really the products fault but just something to be aware of.

- Doesn't seem to be a HUGE range of colors, but there are still a lot.

- If you install them wrong then your kind screwed because that adhesive will stick to the car more than the lights.

The lights were a present for my partner, they arrived two months earlier than expected which was a nice surprise considering the current pandemic! The app is really easy to use and I love that you can change through so many different colours! The lights look great in the car, we have had no issues with setting up or using them so far!
