Praise for Left of Forever:
â
"With an epistolary structure narrated in duet fashion, this second-chance romance is ideal for listeners who enjoy having their hearts stitched back together while they listen." - Library Journal (starred review)
âTarah weaves pure magic! Left of Forever is my favorite type of love story. The perfect blend of realistic and endlessly romantic.â â New York Times bestselling author Elsie Silver
âDeWitt delivers an impeccable second chance romance that snatched me off real life and had me breathless until I turned the last page. Iâm hopeless when it comes to beautiful prose that makes the world quiet around me, but pair that with a nice dose of angst, spine-tingling steam, and the kind of love thatâs etched onto your heart, and Iâm yours forever. Truly. Thatâs how long I plan on keeping Ellis and Wrenâs story safely tucked against my chest.â â Elena Armas, New York Times bestselling author of The Spanish Love Deception and The FiancÃĐ Dilemma
âA uniquely immersive love story, with writing thatâs both stunningly lyrical and side-splittingly hilarious. Iâve never read a romance like this before, one so intimate and lived-in, with characters who grab your heart on page one and never let go. Tarah DeWitt is a master of emotion. Youâll never look at ice cream the same way again.â â Rachel Lynn Solomon, New York Times bestselling author of Business or Pleasure and The Ex-Talk
âAching and sexy, Left Of Forever hits you in your feels. The Second Chance Romance I needed.â â Julie Soto, USA Today bestselling author of Forget Me Not and Not Another Love Song
âLeft of Forever is a remarkable romance about grown-up love, about a love worth fighting for again and again, about hard-won love. Itâs a second chance story for the ages. Wren and Ellisâs journey back to each other is written with incredible care, visceral tenderness, a depth that has no end, and melt-your-face off intimacy. I need a world-renowned scientist to study Tarah Dewittâs beautiful brain, because Iâm not sure her talent is of this earth.â â Jessica Joyce, USA Today bestselling author of You, With a View and The Ex-Vows
"Left of Forever is a gorgeous story about finding love even when it seems like all is lost. Full of hope, tenderness, and a burn that will make you physically ache - Wren and Ellis's story will live in my head for what's left of forever." â Lana Ferguson, USA Today bestselling author of The Nanny
"Left of Forever is a testament to the power of a second chance romance...gorgeous, tender, and filled with adorable, lovable, smoldering hope. Itâs the kind of book that you wish you could live in, and I finished it feeling like an honorary member of the loyal (and nosy) Byrd family, and an honorary citizen of Spunes, Oregonâplus very ready to find a stoic firefighter to bake something for. Five stars!" â Sierra Simone, USA Today bestselling author of Priest and Honey Cut
âTarah DeWitt's Left of Forever packs such an emotional punch -- the pressure it can put on a relationship when you have a kid young, the bittersweetness of sending that same kid off to college still believing that relationship to be broken beyond repair. I loved watching Wren and Ellis find their way back to each other, both through their letters where they could express some of their truest feelings and through the time they spent together. (And oh, the time they spent together!) I would know a Tarah DeWitt romance anywhere." - Alicia Thompson, USA Today bestselling author of Love in the Time of Serial Killers and The Art of Catching Feelings
"You can't help but ache for Ellis and Wren. Their longing for each other leaps off the page. A truly heartfelt read, brimming with wit and charm." - K.A. Tucker, USA Today and Internationally bestselling author of The Simple Wild

This is a gorgeous second-chance romance full of yearning, humor, and steam.â â Kate Goldbeck, national bestselling author of You, Again
"Left of Forever is an emotional, soul-satisfying love story that wrapped itself around my heart from the first page. Heartfelt, sexy and with characters so real, I felt like they were sitting beside me, Tarah DeWitt has proven once again why she is one of my must-read writers." â Catherine Walsh, author of Holiday Romance
"Emotionally rich and exquisitely horny, Left of Forever is a gorgeous romance sure to make you laugh and cry. Its characters might need a second chance at their happily-ever-after, but Tarah DeWitt will win your undying love the first time around." - Laura Hankin, author of One-Star Romance
âA heartbreakingly honest and satisfyingly steamy love story about learning to trust the second time around. Filled with tender hearted characters and the kind of sexy angst thatâll have you clutching your chest, Left of Forever is my ideal second chance romance. Iâm a forever fan of Tarah DeWitt.â - Ellie Palmer, author of Four Weekends and a Funeral
Praise for The Co-Op:
"Sexy, smart, playful, and poignant, DeWitt has created pure romance magic!" âChristina Lauren, New York Times bestselling author of Love and Other Words
"Tarah Dewitt is the master of messy, unforgettable characters who make you desperate for the happily-ever-after that this author always perfectly delivers, and The Co-op is no exception. Cleverly constructed, laugh-out-loud funny, heart-achingly tender, and deeply sexy, this book gave me exactly what I want from a romance: passionate, imperfect characters I could fully root for, placed in complex, emotionally-fraught situations I wanted to see them through. I finished this book with a sigh of happiness: for Deacon and LaRynn and the love they found, and for myself and all the readers who get to watch it happen." âKate Clayborn, author of Georgie, All Along
Praise for Savor It:
"What an absolutely delightful treat to savor! With the comfort only a small-town romance can bring, and the allure of a deal thatâs struck between our leads, Tarah DeWitt effortlessly captured my heart with Savor It. Sage and Fisherâs journey is a relatable, sexy and beautiful tale about falling in love, finding your place and bravely unveiling new beginnings. And my favorite thing about it? It packs the most delicious emotional punch." âElena Armas, New York Times bestselling author of The Spanish Love Deception
"This Pacific Northwest rom-com has delicious tension from the first interaction. Add in fake dating and a steamy scene in a library, and who could ask for more? Readers will appreciate how much attention and care DeWitt put into creating fully-framed characters grappling with grief, chasing dreams, and figuring out how to live in the moment." âLibraryReads, May 2024 pick
"DeWittâs sprightly narrative is by turns funny and red-hot, as Sage and Fisher, who share a love of puns, develop some serious chemistry... This is a charmer." âPublishers Weekly
"DeWitt delivers another emotion-packed rom-com that readers will be eating up, full of witty banter, comical hijinks, and tender moments of healing. Hand to those who enjoy grumpy/sunshine pairings as well as fake-relationship romances." âLibrary Journal

"With equal parts sharp wit, delicious tension, and aching intimacy, Savor It immediately captivated me and refused to let go. Tarah DeWitt expertly crafted Sage and Fisher into fully realized, beautifully imperfect people and made me fall in love with them just as surely as they fell in love with each other. The title might as well be a promise, because I savored every gorgeous word until the very last drop." âJessica Joyce, USA Today bestselling author of You, with a View
"Savor It is a glittering love letter to small towns, big puns, wrenching heartaches and expansive palates. Bittersweet, sexy and full of feeling, DeWitt has a gift for giving equal space in her stories to explore everyday nuances and those once in a lifetime moments. Simply put, I love her brand of love stories.â âErin Hahn, author of Built to Last
"Tarah DeWitt writes with a warm authenticity and charm that simply shines off the page. Sage is one of the most compulsively likeable protagonists I've read in a long timeâbig hearted, bohemian, and unapologetically living her life the way she wants to live it. Fisher's a man adrift, magnetic and angstyâand watching him find his home in Sage is an absolute delight. Summery, sensual, and wildly swoony, Savor It is a delectable treat." âJen Devon, author of Bend Toward the Sun
"Tarah DeWittâs Savor It mixes heat, humor, and heartfelt moments to serve up a delightful read that will stir your emotions and make you smile." âSophie Sullivan, award-winning author of Ten Rules for Faking It
"No one is using the twenty-six-letter alphabet like Tarah DeWitt. Savor It is delightfully funny, perfectly angsty, and indomitably hopeful. Sage and Fisher will have you swooning and sweating, but even if you can't stand the heat, I promise you'll want to stay in the kitchen." âLyla Sage, author of Done and Dusted

Written in first person, each voice is completely unique and utterly absorbing. Itâs brilliantly written, mature, polished, emotive, funny, and an example of an indie published book that should be front and center in every bookstore. Funny Feelings gave me all the feels and I could not recommend it more highly." âEvie Alexander, award-winning author of Highland Games

About the author

Tarah DeWitt is an author, wife, and mama. When she felt like she devoured every romcom available in 2020, she indulged herself in writing bits and pieces of her own. Eventually, those ramblings from the Notes app turned into her debut novel. Tarah loves stories centered around perfectly imperfect characters, especially those with just enough trauma to keep them funny, without ever being forcefully cavalier. She believes laughter is an essential part of romance, friendship, parenting, and life. She is the author of Rootbound, The Co-op, and Funny Feelings.

warpammerReviewed in the United States on 22 June 20255.0 out of 5 stars My Favorite Read of 2025
Verified PurchaseI've read a number of Tarah DeWitt's books including the first in the Spunes, Oregon series. They've ranged from 5 stars to DNF, though the latter were just matters of personal taste. If I had my way I'd rate Left of Forever in constellations. This is my favorite book for 2025 so far.
Left of Forever is the story of Ellis and Wren Byrd, whose relationship began as a grade school friendship, ignited when they hit high school, put down roots when they had a baby, and blossomed when they got married. Life happened, and the Byrds divorced four years before the novel starts, leaving them nothing in common but their extended family and their mutual devotion to their young son Sam. When the novel opens, Sam is on the brink of leaving for college, and Ellis and Wren are contemplating the future from very different perspectives. However, Sam's early departure becomes an opportunity for them to share a brief road trip, make peace with the past and explore possible futures.
This book is really beautifully written. The structure is interesting, with the author using journal entries, letters, conversations, and texts to convey information, character details, and emotional depth. There are also multiple timelines integrated smoothly into the story line and revealing the internal conflicts and connections within the relationship. The POV is dual first person present tense and it works perfectly to establish unique, consistent voices for both the main characters. This is a story where the reader always knows who's telling it at any given moment. Supporting and peripheral characters are fully realized, whether they occupy a paragraph or a chapter. I think one of the coolest things about this story is the way that all of its various and sometimes disparate elements illuminate the intricate details of the central romance. Every segment of the story reveals another piece of the puzzle that is Ellis and Wren's long and ongoing relationship
The centerpiece of Left of Forever is the road trip from central California back to Spunes. I love road trips, but I am used to the kind that feature a group of people, perhaps a found family or a collection of incompatible strangers. Having the journey focus only on the MCs was a brilliant variation. Other characters are introduced at the different stops en route, and contribute to subtly peeling back of the layers of Wren and Ellis's past. They often provide comic relief as well.
As individuals, both protagonists are incredibly appealing. Ellis is quietly strong and protective to a fault, with a dry, sneaky sense of humor. Wren's voice is lighter and downright funny, but she knows how to lay down the law when needed. Both are competent, down-to-earth, principled adults. In a way, this whole book is a conversation between these two, sometimes hilarious, sometimes incredibly moving. I embrace stories that make me smile or--better yet--laugh, but I rarely welcome tears. There are points in this novel that took me from laughter to tears and back within a couple of paragraphs, and I loved it.
I think the best books, the books that absolutely blow my mind, are the rare ones that startle me and show me things I've never seen before. Such books are grounded in the minutiae of real, ordinary life, but some quality in the writing is gloriously transformative. Left of Forever is one of these books. Five stars cannot begin to do this book justice. Like I said, constellations.

Second chances
This book where do I begin?
I knew from the blurb of the book I instantly wanted to read it. And I'm so very grateful for the early copy I received to read. I will absolutely be purchasing a physical copy once this book is published!
Reading Sage & Fisher's story just made me more excited to read Ellis & Wren's love story.
While I didn't exactly relate to the major part of this story considering I'm still currently married to my partner. I understand marrying young and the struggles of adapting together in a new life and raising your first born.
But please don't let that deter you from choosing this book to read. Because this story is so much more. This is a beautiful story with so many emotions.
I cried. The loss of time. The heartbreak. The anger. The longing and not giving up. They were meant to be together. FOREVER.
If you take anything away from this story. Communication is vital. It's KEY to any relationship.
Second chances - Yes please. Time heals. But time is also cruel and it's not something you can ever get back. Fight for what love with all your heart.
Five freaking stars for me. This book made me feel so much. This book gives hope. This book is so many things I can't find the words for. It is more than just a romance novel.

I knew going in this was going to be quite the emotional roller coaster being this was a second chance, but what I found was the most surprising was the most emotional stuff was within the context of the brothersâ relationship. At the end I got quite misty eyed over the speech that Ellis brother made. It was a kick to the heart. It so beautiful and heartfelt that it was no wonder I got emotional over it. It made the story that much more complete by including it in here.
As for the romance, I thought it did a good job at showing the ups and downs Ellis and Wren had in the past as well as the present. Showing how they were through them by going on this road trip to reconnect. It was hard and emotional, but it was what was needed to get to the place they needed to get back to in order to be together again. It just reaffirmed their love ten fold by going through this process and becoming stronger as a couple.
LaurynReviewed in the United States on 21 May 20255.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely PERFECT!
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI am freaking obsessed. I wasn't sure that Tarah would be able to top Fisher and Sage from Savor It, but she just had to go and prove me wrong. Second chance romance is hit or miss for me - I either love it or could do without. I have to say, this very quickly (like within the first couple of chapters) has become my new favorite second chance romance.
Ellis is a firefighter with a fair amount of baggage - he's divorced, a father, and he blames himself for a work-related accident. Wren works in the bakery that her mom started, and has also been through her fair share of struggles - she's divorced, a mother, and getting ready to send her son of to college. Plot twist? Ellis and Wren are divorced...from each other. Dropping their son, Sam, off at college means that they will have to tolerate being around each other again. Between lingering feelings and meddling family, their resolve is put to the test.
Ellis puts on a hard exterior, but it's because he's hiding a world of hurt. The closer he comes to dropping Sam at college, the more he realizes that he misses his ex-wife, Wren. Ellis is bold in his choices while planning their road trip from Oregon to California, and decides to make it into a trip to win her back. The man is a giant, gooey marshmallow on the inside and I fell in love with him so easily. He doesn't do anything without reason, he loves fiercely, and at his heart he is a true family man.
Wren is a strong, at times bull-headed, woman. I could relate to her on many levels, as a wife and mom, and feeling like the weight of the world is on her shoulders. She longs to be swept off her feet again, and after being divorced for 5 years, is feeling like she wants to act on getting her ex-husband back.
The PINING between these two is *chef's kiss*. The way that they knew one another so deeply made their journey of wooing and romancing feel uniquely intimate. Their road trip becomes a challenge: see if there is enough of a spark left to rekindle their relationship. Ellis plans romantic stops along the way, and the physical tension builds (and it's delicious). The story is a slow burn, but it doesn't feel that way - likely due to the fact that there are things to reminisce about at every turn.
I have heard Connor before, but Megan was a new narrator for me. I absolutely LOVED them both in these roles, and I think that their performances really nailed the tone of the book. Tarah's story is an emotional rollercoaster, and I never once felt as though they were disconnected from the material. There is a large cast of characters, and they both did a great job of differentiating between them. Stellar performance from both narrators!
Thank you to Tarah and the publisher for the opportunity to review this book.

Verified PurchaseI wanted to love this book. Iâve been waiting for a while for it come out and from the incredible early reviews, I couldnât wait to read it. Unfortunately, I was immediately disappointed.
The horrid communication between Ellis and Wren in the first 30%, was incredibly frustrating. They co-parented a teenage son together, yet they barely talked at all. There was a lot of miscommunication and misunderstandings that went on in the first part of this book because these two wouldnât talk to each other.
I didnât like Wren that much. She mentions (a few times) how she slept with other men right after the divorce to find intimacy. That really bothered me. If a hero started sleeping with OW right after divorcing the love of his life, (who is the heroine), I would be livid. -So I hate it when the heroine does it too. âBecause these two still deeply loved each other. Ellis eventually dated other women, but it was mentioned very briefly and it never mentions if he slept with them. I did dnf at 70% though, so it may have been discussed after that.
Once they embark on their trip, the book did get a little better. I liked Ellis much more than Wren. It bothered me that Ellis was the one that had to try so hard to prove there was still something between them. I just didnât feel an emotional connection to them at all the way I was expecting to. Iâm 70% in and Iâm probably going dnf because Iâm not really invested in this couple at all. And itâs not the author. I LOVED Funny Feelings and Root Bound so much, but this book did nothing for me.
