Charlotte Aitchison (born 2 August 1992), better known by her stage name Charli XCX, is a British actress, pop singer, and songwriter. Born in Cambridge, and raised in Start Hill, Essex, she demonstrated an affinity for music from a young age, being interested in acts such as the Spice Girls and Britney Spears, and recording songs for her Myspace page. As she caught the attention of an East London's underground rave promoter, who later invited to perform at their illegal warehouse parties, she signed a major-label deal with Asylum Records, a subdivision of Atlantic Records, in 2010.

After leaving the Slade School of Fine Art to pursue music, in 2011, XCX released "Stay Away" and "Nuclear Seasons", both named Best New Track by music-magazine Pitchfork. Her debut, True Romance, was released in 2013, and followed by her mainstream breakthrough single "Boom Clap", which topped the charts and was later included on her sophomore album, Sucker (2014). After meeting producer Sophie, the duo cooked the controversial EP Vroom Vroom (2016), later credited as a pioneering work to the hyperpop movement. Throughout 2017, the singer dropped two collab-filled mixtapes, Number 1 Angel and Pop 2, respectively, and in 2019, her official third album, Charli, all three characterized by the innovative blend of electronic music influences. In 2020, she issued the COVID-19-pandemic-themed record, How I'm Feeling Now, and followed it with the "poptastic" Crash album in 2022, which became her highest-charting album. In 2024, she released the Grammy-winner album, Brat, to critical and commercial success, resulting in a cultural summer phenomenon. Ahead of the rollout for the record, she starred in various film projects throughout 2025 and 2026. That same year, she delivered an accompanying album to Emerald Fenell's adaptation of Wuthering Heights, which includes a collaboration with legend John Cale.

Music, Fashion, Film is the new seventh studio album by British singer Charli XCX. Set for release on 24 July 2026, it follows her 2024-defining album, Brat (2024). Mainly produced by long-time partners A. G. Cook and Finn Keane, who first worked with the singer on the experimental mixtape, Number 1 Angel (2017), its artwork was photographed by Scottish filmmaker Aidan Zamiri and features the singer's three pillars of music, fashion, and film, respectively: John Cale, Marc Jacobs, and Martin Scorsese.

After concluding the succesfull rollout of her career-highlight-album, Brat (2024), with Aidan Zamiri's mockumentary The Moment (2026), releasing a soundtrack to Emerald Fennell's adaptation of Wuthering Heights (2026), XCX entered a dramatic two-month hiatus. As she returned, new material was teased ("I think the dance floor is dead / So now we're making rock music"), sparking major drama, as speculation arose around the singer issuing a rock album and snubbing dance music after reaching mainstream attention with the club-oriented Brat. As the dust settled, XCX clarified "[she] never said [she] was making a rock album", and officially announced the release of the album's lead single, "Rock Music", accompanied by a video directed by Zamiri.
