Iris Ong is a Research Fellow at CEIR with a focus on data analysis. She initially joined CEIR as an intern in June 2025. Iris is interested in the intersection between technology, democracy, and policy, as well as the applications of data to study elections.

Before joining CEIR, Iris worked with The Carter Center with their Digital Threats to Democracy team. She focused on both domestic and international election issues by assisting in social media monitoring, election observation, and researching voting behavior. Furthermore, Iris has supported a study concerning people’s perceptions of election integrity in response to cyber threats.

Iris holds a B.S. in International Affairs with a minor in Economics from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Outside of work, she enjoys drawing, listening to music, and exploring new places!
