Chris Ferguson is a Canadian film producer. He is the head of the production company Oddfellows, which is based in his hometown of Vancouver.[1] Through Oddfellows, he is best known as the producer of Longlegs, The Monkey, and Backrooms, all of which are collaborations with Osgood Perkins.[2]

Early Life
[edit]Chris Ferguson became friends with Zach Lipovsky starting in kindergarten. The two would make home movies together throughout their grade school and high school education and would perfect their skills as they did so.[1]
Ferguson briefly studied philosophy at Langara College before choosing to focus his career on film.[3] Ferguson did not attend film school.[4]
Career
[edit]When Ferguson began his career, he would visit the Vancouver International Film Festival and the Whistler Film Festival with his friends, which helped him realize the ability to produce high-quality films in Vancouver.[4] Ferguson in particular noted Beyond the Black Rainbow as a standout film that inspired him.[4]
Ferguson participated in the Crazy8s film festival along with Zach Lipovsky.[1] Ferguson and Lipovsky would later make the film Afflicted.[1] Through the bidding war for that film, Ferguson would meet with frequent collaborator Brian Kavanaugh-Jones.[1]
Ferguson met Osgood Perkins during reshoots for Gretel & Hansel.[1] The two would first collaborate with Longlegs, and then would work on The Monkey.[1] When the 2023 Hollywood labor disputes forced production on The Monkey to pause, the two began to create Keeper and finished the film in 13 weeks.[1] All three collaborations were filmed in Vancouver.[5] In 2025, Ferguson and Perkins signed a first-look deal with Neon.[6] Ferguson's next film with Perkins, The Young People, was the first to start production since the release of Longlegs.[4]
Ferguson runs his company Oddfellows with nine other contracted employees.[1]
In 2025, Ferguson helped assemble a group to acquire the Park Theatre, including himself, Perkins, Lipovsky, Sean Baker, Samantha Quan, Mike Flanagan, and Finn Wolfhard.[7][8][9] Cineplex Entertainment had intended to close the theatre, but after the landlord reached out to Corinne Lea of the Rio Theatre, who then reached out to Ferguson, Ferguson assembled the group that bought the theatre.[4][9] The group made renovations to the theatre that included a new Cinemeccanica 70 mm projector, and the theatre will be managed by Lea.[3][4][9] The Park Theatre reopened in December.[4]
Ferguson is the board chair of the Overdose Prevention Society in the Downtown Eastside.[5] He first volunteered for the OPS during the COVID-19 pandemic, and has since worked on mentorship and employment programs as well as hands-on crisis responses.[5]
In 2025, Ferguson received the Mayor's Achievement Award from the Mayor of Vancouver, in recognition of his film work and his role at the Overdose Prevention Society.[5]
In 2026, Ferguson and Oddfellows signed a first-look deal with Warner Bros.[10]
One of Ferguson's upcoming projects is a film with It Ends director Alex Ullom titled 4x4: The Event.[2][11]
