Wesley Grimes (born March 9th, 2004), is an American professional football wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL).[1] He played college football for Wake Forest from 2022-2023 and North Carolina State from 2024-2025. He signed with the San Francisco 49ers as an Undrafted Free Agent in 2026. He is currently on the 49ers practice squad.
Early Life
[edit]Grimes was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. [2] Grimes was a football and baseball player for Millbrook High School. Grimes set a school record in receiving yards and named North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Player of the Year.
College career
[edit]Wake Forest
[edit]Grimes started his college career playing with Wake Forest. [3] At Wake Forest, Grimes had 372 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns.
North Carolina State
[edit]After 2 years with Wake Forest, Grimes transfered to North Carolina State. [4] At North Carolina State, Grimes had 749 yards and 5 touchdowns.

[edit]Grimes signed with San Francisco 49ers as an Undrafted Free Agent in 2026.[5] Grimes was released as part of the final 53 man roster cuts [6], and signed to the practice squad. [7]
