This is the first description of the phonology of the language in a comprehensive manner. This paper aims to highlight the various phonological aspects found in the language in a detailed and descriptive way. It presents a synchronic analysis of the language by describing its segmental phonology, phonotactics and tones. Use of aspirated consonants and consonant clusters is very limited in Champang. Besides, the discovery of tones in the language is an important development in the study of the language.
