Mascis describes the need to be seen by a specific woman who seems to not properly reciprocate his feelings, and instead throws him around the thralls of emotions that still leaves him vulnerable for her. Mascis describes this song in an interview with Fender Play Live as probably not being his “favorite song”, but rather the group’s best, saying that it was everything they’ve needed to accomplish.
